I have recieved all but 2 of the prospects from Div III.14 (but they don't look brilliant) so I have put them on the forum

Honestly our inside is too weak, we are hurt badly by game shape having only 3 players to choose from with one on 6 GS. I'm not going to hold my breath lol - still, this is the hardest of all the games so nice to get it first

rankings in U21 mean nothing. season 18 is an all too good reminder about that. English U21 was ranked 64th at the start of the season, yet went on to qualifiy for the european championship.

Each generation has a chance at making it to the top. the bigger factor i would look at is Community size. Russia has a large community, so their U21 is likely to be strong. However, it only takes 1 golden generation to be able to upset even the top teams. that is part of the appeal of the U21's aswell. if u get 15 managers to decide to all take 1 trainee and give him the royal treatment, then u'r likely to have an extremely strong team capable of challenging the top nations for a spot in the european championship ( or have an extended consolation run).

anyhow, Russia should get the top spot. 2nd spot will be a fight between Portugal, Ukraine, England and Israel.

best of luck for tomorrow! if ur able to keep the difference below a 20 point loss, then i'd say u'll have done a great job!

I realise that rankings don't mean everything, but one look at their team should tell you that if they aren't 3rd they are very close mate. I'm looking to make a golden generation, but it's going to be hard to do that with this current crop of 21's however good they are... Our current crop of 18 and 19's however... now thats a great group, and as you say... all I need is those 15 who capture a vision!

Yes I agree, keeping that to below 20 would be my aim

Russian game review:

A fascinating game... as we watched the game it seemed obvious they were playing LI, the game was fast and all the shots were inside. It was some surprise to find out they were playing base offense 2-3 against us.

All in all we managed to hold a much better team down to 13 points difference which begs the question. How did we do it? Is it that game day prep boosts defense in that area? We kept their inside offense from running away with the game, which to be fair would, on any other day, totally dominate us. Likewise we managed to exploit some of their vulnerabilities. I think it was a shame we gave away so many fouls (40!), this would be to do with our gameshape and individual players and their enthusiastic desire to get the ball. We also missed two thirds of our FT's which if you factor in would have put us level with Russia!

I've learned a lot from this about the game day preparation engine, I'm actually glad I chose the predictions I did... I would note, this is a game we expected to lose by about 20. In the end we lost by 13. For us that is a brilliant result!

Please look after gameshapes for next week, I'm hoping to draft in a couple more inside men (we were only able to pick 3 from our shortlist of 8 because of poor minutes and shape). I think I've proved one thing today... give me the tools people, I'll give you the results

Congratulations on the win today, we are actually very pleased we managed to hold you down to 13 difference... I was amazed that the wrong prediction did not result in a dramatic swing in points result for you. In fact if anything it seemed to help us. I am not sure the game day preparation does what we think it does, in covering against the inside offense with our prep we avoided you being able to dominate us inside, and even though you played balanced, you only scored 22 from FG's at PF and C. It would seem the inside prediction even though it did not meet what you played, served to keep you from attacking us inside anyway and the outside defense from our guards seemed to hold you off (could this be a fault in the game engine?).

Your SF ripped us apart however and I would argue for Velling being MVP.

The big surprise of the night was the fouls, wow 40 fouls!! Incredible lol.

Anyway, I wanted to wish you all the best of luck with the rest of the league, please obliterate all your opponents for us so we can take second or third place

Thanks )
I guess we just dont have enough information about GDP for now. Watch Turkish game and Sakartvelo - Magyarország, it is realy surprising... for Turkie and Hungary for sure.
And we will surely win the rest league, so you can take 3rd place, second place i guess will take our neighbors (Ukraine).
Good luck!

Dmitriy.
