Did you forget to recalculate the numbers or are you stalling? Like maybe we will forget that the attendance algorithm is messed up. If you are stalling, maybe you should delete the message on the front page of BB that says you are working on it.

I didn't forget. I can easily recalculate but since I still haven't figured out the cause, I don't see how it will help. I might do it just for the sake of removing the message though.

Well couldn't you recalculate attendance just to compare it to the actual data? If for some teams there's a major difference between recalculated and original attendance revenue, for example more than $50k per game, then it shows there was probably a bug somewhere and even if you can't figure out the cause, at least you'll be able to reimburse the teams with lost revenue.

Here we go again. Every week the attendance bug gets worse and worse. Pretty soon it will be soooo big you won't be able to fix it. A new attendance algorithm is needed badly. It is really past the bug part. A third of this season is gone and you are still talking about fixing a bug from late last season.

Can't do it. It's relying on many factors which have changed a lot since then and can't be properly recalculated for that point in time. Sadly, it looks like I'll just have to do a very basic recalculation that just gives everyone 10% more attendance (for example).

There is another option: I can calculate the average attendance up to that point of that season and set that as the attendance income. But it (the income) won't align with the arena sets sold...

This doesn't sound like a good idea. Most teams aren't affected by this bug, so if you just give everyone more money, you're rewarding teams who aren't experiencing the bug.

In fact, in your example, it's even worse for the teams with the bug since 10% of their attendance will probably work out to a smaller amount.

Maybe if you can't recalculate all the past matches, just do a recalculation for more recent matches and compare to the actual data.

The teams that show a big discrepancy between numbers can be reimbursed, and maybe even have that 10% bonus applied to past attendance numbers that can't be reliably calculated anymore, while the other teams whose recalculated values are in line with actual numbers can be left alone, since they probably didn't have the bug.
