I've been thinking...now the elastic effect is even more important than before. I'll give you an example:

You are training IS which is 5 levels above ID and RB (so it trains slower due to elastic effect). Let's say in this case, one training of IS raises said skill for 0,4. So 0,36 goes into IS and 0,04 in another random skil.

Now let's say IS is 5 levels BELOW ID and RB. In that case, one training of IS raises this skill for 0,6. So 0,54 goes into IS and 0,06 in another random skill.

I know elastic effect was already important, but now it's even more since those 10% that go into another skill are worth more.

Well i was thinking about the same thing, but we can't really know if cross training really works based on % of the skill trained. For all we know the amount of cross training recived could be calculated seperatly from the main skill training. And the elastic effect could also influence the amount of training recived with cross training. So many possibilites...

I'm quite disappointed about the training;

Today my SF had a pop up of SB(to 8) when i was training on SF-PF(first cross training pop).

This season i haven't trained inside defense, so if i do it next season it's probably i got another pop of SB(to 9)


So basically it means i'll lose 1 level of IS or ID or RE because the SB will raise more than it should do.

I trained in a multiskilled way always, but this new system of training it will be negative for the managers who train SF's because you can't control the sublevels of the player if you are training him in all the skills.


So yes, it's pretty cosmetic change, if you are training a monoskilled outside player and your players pops-up the IS or ID or rebound from 1 to 2 it's ok, but if your worst player skill is in 8, it's an awfull system.

Maybe in previous weeks during outside training, You had invisible training of ID/IS/RB ;-)

You understand your player has not gained a full level in SB, don't you ? His progress was lilliputian. He has only crossed a virtual line that made him "pop".

Since it seems there are sublevels to potential, there is no way we can be accurate to the unit level of skills anyway.

By training inside next season, you may have a pop in OD.

So many reasons to get a perspective on this...

Yeah, but i don't fancy with the idea that my SF changes to PF position so at the end i can't finish his training like i wanted.


I would like the choice to choose if i want the old system or this new one.

You have failed to understand that cross training is a small amount of your total training. It was introduced and was needed for those managers who were training monoskill or 2 skill monsters. Now you can still train those, but you are getting a penalty when you have uneven skills. It's actually easier to train SF's now, not harder. Your complaining of ~0.03 skill rise with cross training is anecdotal.

Finally a cross-training pop:

9/30/2011 Rebounding for C / PF
Vladyslav Polovko ↑popped↑ in Driving from *** to ***
Saro Scagliarini ↑popped↑ in Rebounding from *** to ***

Looking at past trainings, I did not estimate Polovko's driving to be at that high of a sublevel to have a chance at popping during cross-training. I can only guess that the majority of the random %s have been going to the same skill (driving). I'll look at numbers further, but right now that is the #1 explanation in this case.

This raise can change the position of my SF and turn it to a PF on the future.


Actually it's not easier to train SF's, on the future i'll have a problem due to his level of SB so i'll have to care a lot about what inside traininings i'm doing if i don't want to have a +150k SF or ''PF'' player -.-'

Anyway, i understand you don't get my pov if you haven't trained such kind of players.


PS: And this 0,03 it's just your guess because it could be a 0,5 without problems.

uhm. if your player is so close in salary to switch between SF and PF, how does that change his overall value, skillset or salary? I mean, honestly ... if his future salary is like ... 65 k as a SF, and he becomes a 66k PF instead, how does that change anything at all?

If You have player who is PF and who has salary = 100k, then two full levels of SB increase salary to 113k. It shouldn't be big problem and it shouldn't destroy economy of club.
And real increase should be less than 13k. First reason - because it looks for me impossible to get extra two full levels of SB thanks cross training. Very often even related skills are trained slower. Second reason - because if default possition is different than PF (and C, but it doesn't matter), then pop in SB is almost free in salary. So Your player is better and his salary is practically the same.
