After a good solid win against Chile (with the Nguyens, especially Tan, staring) we continue our campaign against the #1 ranked France tonight.

Yet another tough game for us, but hopefully we get a bit of luck

Howdy

Just thought I'd get thoughts on the below player I drafted this season and find out if it's worth training for the u21 team and if so, what level he needs to get to. I realise that his passing is prob going to hurt his chances and may take some time to build up.

I think he could be made in to a nice small forward.
I would 1 position train him in passing for this whole season.
Then see what his skills are at that time.

If you don't want to do that, then I would train all his other skills that are on respectable until they are on strong and then sell him.

He would be a nice addition for your team, but I think he will struggle for the NT. The two reasons for that are:

1. Like you say, his passing is horrible.
2. Both his OD and ID are not great, particularly his ID. To get both of of those up to the level required, in addition to getting his poor passing up, you may struggle.

I could be wrong, though - I definitely stand to be corrected on that.

While his Outside defence and Inside defence isn't great, the rest of his skills are pretty good. And remember that he is still 18 after all. 1 position training for passing for the entire season will mean that his passing will be much higher (especially because it is so much lower than the other skills so it will train faster) and passing also trains outside defence, driving and handling so those will experience pops as well. I think he could definitely be a chance at making the team as a small forward.

Will he be a good player for your team if trained right? definately

Will he make the U21s? I'd have to say probably not. The main reason of course is his passing, which will take the whole season to get to a decent level. By the time you've done that, well he's already a season behind the other young guys.

I would go the outside SF route with him, get his passing up this season, then the next season focus on his OD and ID. I think he'll be a good player, but I also think he'll take time to become a good player, and, as tends to be the case with SFs, probably wont quite be at the required level when he's 21.

If it wasn't for the passing, I think his OD and ID would have been enough, but the need to get that passing out takes out many weeks that would be needed to get the OD/ID up. Still, he can be a very good player for his team, but it means he's pushing uphill to get into the U21 NT.

Our final game of the U21 repacharge in on tonight. After our loss to France, we need a big win, and for a bit of luck in the Chile v France game.

Its a long shot, but after the draw we got, I think we are due for a bit of luck!
