A bit off-topic, but the US actually graduated over 35k new PhD's in the sciences in 2008 alone, if you are counting the life sciences, physical sciences, engineering, and social sciences. Even if you want to object to social sciences being 'real science', it still comes out to ~30k hard science PhDs.

Nash is the master of the assist... In Europe BB is growing fast (I think and hope) and in Holland the forums are pretty active for a small countries, Belgians also use the Dutch forums, so maybe that's why, about the most played sports in the USA, isn't soccer growing fast?

I think it's more exciting than watching grass grow, but, well, hockey is sort of similar but has more speed and power, football has more power and speed and rhythm, baseball is the spiritual game with the intellectual elements

i am not a big soccer fan, but american football has so many breaks which makes it slow - if this was the reason you had to watch rugby ;)
And soccer is also very tactical, so it has also intellictual elements - and it happens alot more then on a baseball field - i heard that baseball games are usually "eating orgies" for the fans.
