What I said was that their TV contracts were higher than some of the others this season...I think that's very positive for III.14! haha

Actually, we took a big knock last season for being the weakest DIII out there. But I think that was a bit overstated to be honest....First, obviously my team, and USA Elite would have been with any of the other top DIII teams in any of the leagues. But Oakland Soldiers is a very solid DIII team now...and the Myopic Marauders (a former NBBA team) not only has a solid team, but more cash than most of us will see our entire BB career. And then their other teams that may not be in elite status right now, but are capable beating anyone on any give day, especially home.

So last seaeson, we had USA and my team at the top, a decent gap to the next tier of teams, and then an a huge gap to the bottom 6 or 7 teams. My point is, we had USA Elite with their small payroll, two teams that cleaned house and were in full rebuilding mode, and that really gave the league a bad image. And while its not the strongest league top to bottom...There are a handful of good teams, and some of the new ones show promise as well..so I hate to see those guys who are trying so hard, and making real improvements continue to get dissed.

I know you were kidding, so I am not directing this right at you, but I heard it a lot last season and I have already heard it this season, that III.14 sucks, they are the worst, they are horrible etc. I would say, ( can't speak for this season as much, except for the teams at the top), but last season, we had some great teams, some solid teams, and some absolutely horrible teams. The horrible teams were not a true reflection of the overall league. I guarantee you, that at least 2 from the last league right now, will be solid DII teams in the near future.

I am just glad I have a head start, so i can try to stay ahead of them.

huh thats interesting, It seems that the contracts are getting a little bit higher in all divisions. Is the overall level of competition getting better, or are they just supposed to increase a little each season?

Our payroll is similar to last season so I'm not sure why it went up. That makes me think it went up as the BB's must have increased the TV contracts all around. I have no proof of this other than the fact that everyone's contracts are going up and there is no other reason for ours to.

My question is if III.1 is going to share their TV contract this season or they are going to treat their league like a secret society again this season. ;)

I thought that TV contracts were actually supposed to be going down? Last season, at least, as a balance to the rule where we don't pay players during non-competing weeks.

The did go down last season. It just wasn't a big difference. I had a 240k roster last season. I didn't pay salaries for 1 week. So the 3k drop in TV contracts was minor compared to that...
