well, indeed TV games and rivals games seem totaly random to me.
sure they have fixed formulas for rivals, but then they just have a season calculator for the games, and it just depends on that when or where you will play them.
as for TV games, they also seem to have some formula, but there is a lot of randomness too, especially in which teams you will be playing.
On one side TV and rivals make the game more interesting. It demands higher tactical interaction, on the other side, the downside, this often indeed favours smoe teams, and makes it more troublesome for others.
But as this game is not meant to be played for 1 season, but works in the long run, statistically, it should all level out.
This game can be compared with poker in that area. There's a lot of choices to make, you can play safe, or you can gamble, you will get a good hand, you will get bad hands, good hands will often win, but somethimes loose, etc.
So just try to focus on the lucky things, and not on the bad draws.
