lol yeah the lingo is tricky.. i remember when i first saw people talking about TIE, i thought there was a team that kicked ass called TIE Fighters (from Star wars) and everyone wanted to beat em :D

just remember tiger, pick your battles mate.. ranga is gunning for top spot, he will prolly TIE against you, but will play a top strength team... TIE him and save ur enth for a game you think you can win and relegation battle...

I've read every thread (some numerous times) to soak up the knowledge you guys have. A few abbreviations took a while to decipher i.e. HCA (half court something), GS (goal shooter) all the time strictly following my depth chart but not knowing what that was either.

god i hope you are joking there lol.

Thanks and I'm off to study the rangas to figure out how to knock em off tomorrow night

may i make a suggestion. despite how happy i would be to see you beat the rangas and give me some breathing room from that stifling red-head. TIE the shit out of that game.

it is decision time. who do you think you have the better chance of beating? CRE Towers or Morning Glory?

once you figure that out. take a guess at where they will finish, 6th or 7th. and finish in the other one

I had a read through the Game Manual a couple of months after I started and pretty much everything you need to know is there

why would you go and do that??

i played in div 4 for 5 seasons and didn't realize i had staff members until the off-season between my 4th season to 5th season!

Mind you, if I didn't have some guidance from day 1 I might have done the same. For the record (the Calamri guys know this) but Rob (Western Titans) is a good friend and work colleague. He got me into BB.

that is 100% true.

i mean i didnt really do much to improve my team, log on and see results, set lineup and log off. first time i really took much interest and control, i realised there was more to the game and i promoted.

i was wondering why my players weren't improving much despite getting training. but now we have staff and they still arent giving me pops as regular as i like.

Things I've learnt this season:
- Enthusiasm - it does matter
- Game Shape - it exists
- Arena - build it and they will come
- go for it - winning one game can cost you 3 losses
- junk time can stuff up training
- trainee fouling out - as above
- relegation games cross over - learnt that one tonight
- beer is bad when it gets in your mouth

Some great lessons there, tigertills. What about the importance of Scrimmages? Particularly for GS and training.

Yeah, junk time can really suck. I've been lucky a couple times this season where my number 2 trainee, Rodriguez, had 5 fouls going into the last quarter and both times managed to avoid the unecessary fouling duirng junk time.

Enthusiasm...I hold this knowledge in great esteem. Last season, for example, there were 4 teams that were, on papaer, better than mine on my side of the league. However, becuase I TIE every game (except TV and rival games I think I might lose) my enthusiasm is awesome come playoff time and usually takes care of weaker teams along the way.

As for the beer, well...it's all good. lol
