The guy just started playing, his team will evolve a lot before he promotes and when he promotes. I've been playing for 3 seasons and I promoted last year, and I don't have a single player I had in my first season. I constantly upgrade both my roster and my arena, and if you promote, you'll have more means to do so.

The guy just bought a couple of veterans to win games to generate income through ticket sales, and he also put quite some money in his arena. He's just starting and is still doing the right things. Now that he's settled with some core production to win games he can focus on his arena, which will be filled becasue of the wins.

We both started in the same season. We both made the semifinals last season in Div 4. We both look to be winning titles this season.

Where we are different:
I started two months later than you. (8-9 weeks)

I concentrated on my arena and have built: 50% more bleachers, 27% more lower, 150% more court, and 180% more lux.

Your rotation players are all under 32. But three are not from the USA.
All but one of my rotation players is over 33. They are all from the USA. I make 30K/week in merchandise.

My main trainees are home grown. Your main trainees are bought.

Where you are better: You have more money stored in your roster.
Where I am better: I have more money stored in my arena.

However, I am sure my team could beat yours right now and I would have more money to spend on players towards the end of the season to ensure I would win the title

I am certain we will both be in Div II at some point. I am also certain I will be there before you

I'm nowhere close to a title, this season or next, but thank you for the compliment.

I'm sure you could beat me, nor did I say I was an expert. What I saw in this thread was a new player blindly following multiple peoples opinion without first learning the game and forming one on his own. That was my only point.

As far as your analysis, pretty spot on. You forgot to add the fact that you day trade (which there is nothing wrong with in my opinion) as a difference between our teams. That economic advantage allows you more luxuries than the average player, myself included. If you are going to advise someone to follow in your path to success, give them all the info.

Also from your analysis, it's obvious that I am not as qualified as you to offer an opinion, so I will leave. To the OP, take your time, and have fun. Hopefully you will be better than all of us.

NP Todd you gave decent advice. But I think you overestimate youth. There is a problem with youth. The money is stored in the player. Its worse if you pay a lot up front for him. Although AerodynamicBull has 3 players now that are sunk-cost assets, to me its better than 1 player that is more of an inventory cost. His ROI is much quicker.

AerodynamicBull was in a tough spot. He had 2 clear choices 1) get the team ready to promote, 2) Wait until next season. Since he had already lost 4 games he needed to quickly get a team together. He decided on option 1. I helped him get ready with option 1. He couldn't really afford young players to try to quickly pull a team together...one more loss and he's on the brink of not making the playoffs this season.

Overall under the circumstances he has OK players. They are not salary efficient, but they will serve their purpose and win him games.

As for me, I did day-trade but its not exactly all that profitable. I am testing out a method I saw the top team in the world do last season. So I will see how that goes.

Oh and I agree, tanking is a bad idea. He is better off staying in Div IV once he gets there. Then just pump money in the arena for a season or two. My third season in Div 5 was ultra-boring. I won every game but I didn't even buy any players up until right before the playoffs. Playing in Div 5 is just a waste. The only good was that I finally drafted a superstar potential player and was able to put more money into my arena.
