Definitely train him as a guard if you want him on the U21 team. He will never land a SF spot with atrocious inside shot and pitiful rebounding. As for how to train him. I would keep jacking up the OD and passing because they are usually the most important to U21 NT coaches. After that just train 1v1 for guards.

I'm sorry but that is bad advice. PFs should not be 6'5" players with atrocious inside shooting skills and pitiful rebounding skills. If you want him to make a good SF/PF then he has a better chance going on the TL and simply finding another trainee that has better all around skills. There is nothing wrong with training a tall PG. obviously he won't train as fast as other PGs who are 6'2" or shorter but if he tries to make this player anything except a guard, he would be pretty silly.

Don't worry. I have 2 PG trainees that are 6'8". Slow and steady wins the race :)

This is the one trainee of mine that is furthest behind. I got him as he is Swedish and even though other players probably would have been better in the long run i think he'll do well when done. I really should do some more OD and PA training but i just cant get to it as i need those primary skills more desperately.
Will be focus on SB and RB mostly for a while.
Thoughts?

Power Forward
Weekly salary: $ 25 030
DMI: 353300
Age: 23
Height: 6'9" / 206 cm
Potential: superstar

Predicted salary: $ 40 000

Jump Shot: prominent Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: strong Handling: prolific

Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: tremendous
Rebounding: wondrous ↑ Shot Blocking: wondrous
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: respectable

Experience: awful
Cap: 21.55 (24 to 26)

If he were American and not Swedish, he'd be the perfect guy to work in with my three guys (same age, similar style of build except my guys have more OD and a lot less SB). But I expect you'll derive many seasons of enjoyment from him all the same.

Wow this guy will be a beast. There is no reason he shouldn't be starting at the SF spot when he his 21 for the U21 NT. he has better overall skills as an 18 year old than I've ever seen.

Awesome player mate! Not much potential, but just about enough for your club, to build around him and advance through divisions.
