I think it's more exciting than watching grass grow, but, well, hockey is sort of similar but has more speed and power, football has more power and speed and rhythm, baseball is the spiritual game with the intellectual elements
i am not a big soccer fan, but american football has so many breaks which makes it slow - if this was the reason you had to watch rugby ;)
And soccer is also very tactical, so it has also intellictual elements - and it happens alot more then on a baseball field - i heard that baseball games are usually "eating orgies" for the fans.
Usa soccer lacks of all the things that the fans of "european football"(yet the term "soccer" shows that in usa the soccer is almost another sport from europe/sud america)like
Soccer(as is called in american way) is the sport where the weaker team has more posibilities to win against the stronger, there's a lot of adrenaline and uncertainty than any other sport, the decisions of the refrees can influence much more the match, ther's a great tactical component unknown in the american sports( in american football there's something similar, much more complex about patterns, but is however more oriented towards the 1vs1 mismatch - cornerbacks against wide receivers i.e.-),there are few substitutions available for the coach so every move had to be analyzed and can make great differences, european football is not a sport who can strictly judge by the statistics,so it's open to a great numbers of different interpretations...
Surely, when it's playing at a low level,as still often happen in america, soccer is very boring, butI don't think that a match between the actual T-Wolves an the Nets is much more interesting ;D
P.S. I saw the SuperBowl,and I liked it ;D
