Yao Ming as an All Star will happen as long as Chinese voters have the ability to vote him on. And it has nothing to do with how he's playing, or how much NBA that slice of the NBA-fan-demographic watch.

Dirk Nowitzki should have been a starter? Why? Unfortunately, the ASG has nothing to do with who deserves to be in... it's a fan-voted deal, and undeserving guys have gotten in for years.
Whilst I have certain players I want to see in the ASG, I understand that it's really got nothing to do with "who's best". The bench is often a clearer indication of who's playing well.

Kevin Love should not be in the ASG. Coming from a 10-win team. Putting up empty stats.

I'd rather have LaMarcus Aldridge.

If I was coaching the west, regardless of who starts you would see alot of Gasol and Nowitzki.

I love what the guy says about Love. I thought I would copy/paste so all of our Love-Haters might actually read it :)

"Love's the guy, though; 21.6 points and 15.7 rebounds? Shooting 45 percent from long range? This guy isn't just an All-Star. He's a candidate for the All NBA-Team.

Listen, there are always four or five beyond-terrible teams in an NBA seasons, squads that you watch and wonder how they'll ever make it to 10 wins. And yet, these squads never seem to produce players averaging 37 combined points and rebounds. If it were all about, "he's on a terrible team, that's why he puts up such great numbers," then why haven't we seen numbers like this in 30 years of terrible teams? Seems to me these terrible teams have had about 150 chances, in that time."

So... Love has good stats. Isn't that what I've been saying?
No-one's denying "he-has-good-stats", just that the reason he accumulates them isn't altogether altruistic as far as his team-play goes.

And really? You guys are going to throw Kelly Dwyer at me? Next you'll be using Henry Abbott as a reason why Kobe shouldn't be in the ASG.

Not just 'good' stats, but amazing stats.

No... that phrase would intimate that I/you/people are in amazement at his stats, and whilst "very good", they do not induce awe, or any other response of that ilk.
"Amazing stats" would be the province of Magic Johnson. Of Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Of Wilt.

Speak for yourself, sir. I am in awe.

"Amazing stats" would be the province of Magic Johnson. Of Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Of Wilt.

Those are amazing players, who got to be so called by putting up amazing stats year after year. Kareem would look at his stats and think 'those are better numbers than I ever put up'

Say what?
Love is currently on 21.6 ppg with 15.6 boards. That's a helluva long way short of Kareem's 34.8 ppg with 16.6 rpg.
Love's gotta very, very long way to go before he's worthy of having his name in the same area code, let alone conversation, with #33.
