i perfectly know the feeling, but with other movies :D

FMJ is 1 of my favorite films of all time...

However, there are other films that have been as hyped to me that i thought were very average as well..

The less i hear about a movie, the more inclined i am to enjoy it.. the more i know about it going in, the higher the expectation and the harder it is to impress..

Personally, i have never seen "the blues brothers" My expectation for this film is so high based on the hype, it can not possibly ever live up to the hype :D

The Blues Brothers can live up to its hype it is that good but go in remembering that the comedy is mostly of the dry low key type don't expect it to be Scary Movie XVIII. Also choose your time well. Settle down on a cold Friday night with your Mrs, some cold beers/cokes, some home delivered pizza and make an evening of it.

I totally agree about the expectations though. When I went to see Star Wars episode I with abigfishy we were so hyped being a pair of Star Wars nerds from way back (you can tell I am just by my nicname) that we were crushed when we saw how crap it was (except for the epic lightsaber duel with Darth Maul) and wanted to kill someone but couldn't decide if it was Jar Jar, Anakin or Lucas.

Then after the disappointment of I and II I was expecting more garbage from III and instead totally enjoyed it.

PS: To show how stupid both abigfishy and I are we recently went and saw Star Wars Episode I in 3D. Guess what? It is still crap!

Usually you'll want to put on a boring movie.. so it leads to other interesting things...

Star Wars ep 3 went back to what made the first 1s good, they got rid of al the kiddy merchandising crap that dominated ! and 2... i have seen episode 4,5 and 6 to many times to count, but episodes 1, 2, and 3 i have seen once each...

If you're up for a funny movie star wars related, i can recommend Fanboys :D paid like 6 bucks for it and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Koop, don't need to apologise you are totally correct.

I have watched Episode IV probably 20+ times, but still just one time for III however I did enjoy it and will watch it again.

Come on guys one of the best movies ever. Ok I did give an obscure quote but one I would recognse in a second.

Here is another obscure one although I often quote the second half to my PE students.
