I think there is some realism in the system. In the NBA, we see it when a team would just take it easy in the regular season, try to make the playoffs and crank it up at the postseason (ie San Antonio).

What is not realistic however is going TIE for a few games and for the next month your Normal is at an 8 or 9. If the season is a marathon, starting slow does not mean that when you go to your normal pace, it will be quicker. What it means is that you got that reserve energy to make a sprint at some point.

If I get $5 a day and I only spend $2 for 2 weeks, that don't mean I have $8 to spend for the next 2 weeks and have $30 to blow at the end of it. I still have my $5/day but with an extra $30 when I need it.

What I am suggesting is that you can TIE all you want and let your Enthusiasm get as high as you want. But when you Normal, your enthusiasm for that game should be at most 5, not whatever level >5 it is at that point. Coz its just another game. I may be more rested but that don't mean I'm going to exert extra effort. If it is <5 however, it means, that the team is tired and can't really perform to their usual level so even if they noral, they won't get a 5.

Sorry for the long post, I wanted to explain it as clearly as I could and I don't even know if I did that.

If I am following this post correctly, thats the issue. It isn't the TIE/CT for a game, it's the attitude results.

I don't think the game needs it. It is a hold over from HT and adds more issues then it solves.

CT, TIE and Enthusiasm are great features of the BB.

It brings more realism and much more strategy.
Its strategy when to use, how to use them and in what environment. It is long term planning to get you where you want to go. Now if it works it depends on your opponents (environment) as well on how well they (and you) use these features and how well they scout their opponents and their tactics and evaluate their strength in order to see if they ll lose playing TIE etc. That is plain strategy and long term planning and not just load, aim and shoot.

And yes real coaches tell their teams when to take it easy so they keep their strength (enthusiasm) for more important games.

And yes real coaches tell their teams that this game is (if not the most important), one of the most important games of the season in order to achieve their goal so they should give anything they got!!

And yes after such a game the team is more tired (less enthusiasm) and cannot perform the same on next game. There are hundreds of such examples in basketball and in football as well where a team makes a big effort wins a very strong opponent (and everybody says wow what a great team) and then the next game they lose from a much lesser opponent because of their tiredness and everybody says wow what happened to this great team. So it is strategy how to use it and when.

So please leave it as it is and keep this game interesting that makes you think and plan and dont make it just plain clicks.

Unless you want a game like HT where your main objective and all you do is train and trade players.
This I dont want and that is why i came here so apart the strategy of building my team (which includes training strategy and _SOME_ players trading) I want to use my brain and make plans, strategy and tactics in order to win- achieve my goals and make the difference from my opponents/teammates.

Now if these features need some tweaking that s another issue and only the BB dev people can say that from the statistics they have from the total of the BB games.

Well then the problem doesn't lie with the after effects of CT and TIE. It's more the term 'Enthusiasm'.

I agree to this. The term used currently is misguiding (IMO). Perhaps 'Team Morale' (or 'Team Spirit') is better, as telling your players to 'play their best game' (CT) more than once in a short timespan would wear the team down.

I tend to agree to those that think this adds to the strategy part of the game. I like the idea that a smaller team can bring a big one down if the latter decides to TIE. However, the concept could use some rework.

What if you took TIE completely out of it, like in the final rounds of tournament/playoffs? I mean, if you wanna take it easy, you rest your best players, not? Then it would not be possible to accumulate enthusiasm.

...and what if CT affected your stamina (short time) and game shape? It even could affect your chance of getting injuries (playing harder, trying the impossible)? It would certainly make me think twice about using it.

Game results could even affect enthusiasm. Losing games could bring it down. Losing to weak opponents would hurt even more - oh, the embarrassment! Winning would boost it, though only significantly if you beat stronger opponents or won important games. If it worked that way, you could even keep the option to TIE, as you would run an obvious risk of hurting enthusiasm more than you would gain.

Anyway, let's see what effect the announced all-star-break modification have!
