It may be vast to someone that is a casual BB player. I'm pretty sure Jason is on here anytime he's not sleeping...it won't take him long to get up to speed I guarantee you that.
@Panic/Smedlock - I think we are forgetting in all of this that Namssor, or most people from the offsite for that matter, would also have to get up to speed. Where does Namssor generally post? The tactics threads right? Where we talk about a couple call up options and the other guys on our team already. He does the opposition scouting and is the assistant coach. He is well versed in these things...but like I said I think we need something fresh. I am like you, Smed, because I read and peruse the threads. I am sure Namssor is too, BUT he doesn't post very often (70 times since '09! Did anyone else realize this?) and has not done a ton of domestic scouting amongst our players. So those 100 player possibilities Namssor would have to get acquainted with just like jason. That's also why we have a staff. The staff will help whichever one wins the election get up to speed. That's why Jfarb will stick around. Not because of game planning as he said he will abstain from that, but because of player development and community growth. Everyone understands that it is going to take everyone to win a WC, not just the coach we elect.
Being a part of the offsite in the capacity that most people are allows you to see how things work and how things are run from a NT perspective. Just because you are a part doesn't mean you know everything there is to know about all these topics. Very few people have this much knowledge. I would argue that most of them are past coaches because it takes being a coach before you truly grasp the ins and outs completely. Jfarb put more effort into the offsite than anyone else during his tenure. This caused him to grasp these things fully. Whether it's Namssor or Jason, neither will grasp these things more fully until they are thrown into the fire. That's just how it is.
So I guess what I am saying is that we are putting so much stock into the offsite, yet both candidates have a learning curve where it counts. We are over blowing an issue to be bigger than what it is. It's not as hard as we all think to get acclimated...it just feels that way because a lot of you have been there for so long. Im not saying being a part of it wouldn't help...but it's not the end all be all of the discussion. I have loved being a part of it for the last few months and appreciate everything people do on behalf of the NT. It has motivated me to become a domestic scout of 18yo this season in fact. So I'm not undervaluing the offsite. I am just saying that we are being a little short sighted with how much we are beating this dead horse... On top of that the gap between their activities isn't as great either as seen with the post count. Heck if we went by forum activity then Oriolekid would be the next NT coach. He is more active on their than anyone other than maybe Jfarb or Rambo...and even maybe more than them!
