maybe just a notch below those classics, in my opinion, but one of those many movies you can find that show there was a lot of subversive, disturbing stuff going on below the surface in 1950s America, that Golden Age of happy suburbanites conforming to social norms no one believed in.

Pappy vs. Hrudey is a terrible final -- no way to turn this into some sort of cosmic Good v. Evil struggle. all i know is any chat board with both Hrudey and Shikago has way too much cleverness and humor and like everything else in this game must, at some point, revert to the norm.

Thanks, Isaiah, but I'm not sure I deserve all the accolades. First, a tip of the hat to the Minnesota Snowbirds who quite simply scared the shit out of me. Our game last night was a whole lot closer than the final score might indicate. And a series against good friend hrudey is going to also be a tough one indeed. Thanks again for the shout out!

Good game Hrudey. Best of luck against Pappy

The relegation series turned out well. This conference has the makings of an absolute meat grinder.

No offense but kind of pulling for Pappy in the finals. It sure would be a feel good story to see him finally make the leap.

Same to you. You're right about the conference - it really says it all that although I did come out of the conference, I've also had losses to two non-playoff teams in the last 4 regular season games, plus got beat pretty cleanly by you at home in that same span. And my reward for all of that is facing off against Pappy without HCA, knowing full well that the way the conference goes, I may not see another shot at promotion soon if ever.

Yea it was very tough to come up with MVP and Coach of the year but it's hard to go against the best team in the league.

I'll work on getting the Defensive POY and All BB teams posted in the next couple of days. Lots of good players in this league that are worthy. Have to sort it out though and get the best of the best.

I haven't looked enough at picking an MVP (though I'd probably cast my vote for Bilbija based on the patented "How brown did you make my shorts?" criteria), but I'd definitely agree with him on manager of the year. Your team was the one that has been running with the target on its back and nobody has been able to pull back to the pack. I don't know that I'm entirely up to that either, but I'll do what I can to make you have to earn it and see if it's enough to steal a win or the series or not. Either way, the chance to measure up against the class of the league (in every sense of class) and having the worst case scenario be seeing a good friend move up is definitely a good thing.

Thanks, hrudey, for your kind thoughts. This league has been so tough for so damn long. I thought when I was relegated after 14 seasons in II.4—then promoted back after #21—that I would escape this madhouse. But of course I promoted right back to the same place, to join the likes of Jason's Arizona Desert Storm, Saul's 10-inch Vertical and lathrop's Technical Fouls. But no matter what happens, it's all been good. The BB community is a great bunch of people, but I do mourn the loss of some of our friends here, including derekjosef and others.

And now continuing the award roll-outs, I'd like to announce league MVPee. Which, in no surprise, goes to Vardis Sourpis(s) (18733826).

MVPee

Vardis Sourpis(s)

This guy has not so quietly put together a great season and it's no coincidence he is on the biggest team in the league. Between traveling to games and practicing, he has consistently been a centerpiece to the Milwaukee Lethargy. To add to it, he had been well hydrated too, averaging almost 2 Liters per game. At the end of the day it's not just stats that earn the MVPee honors, it takes efficiency as well, and Sourpis(s) has been one of the most efficient pee-ers in the league. Put everything together and there really wasn't much competition.

Which reminds me - has there ever been a less appreciated starting QB of an NCAA championship team than Chris Leak?
