I have decided that for this season i would send a BB mail to all the managers of my next match. SAying something simple like good luck or welcome to the league. It could lead to a conversation and a brand new more involved member of the canadian BB community.

That is a great idea. Please feel free to point them to the main forums aswell. This is a great resource for training tips, tactical advice and a fun place to interact with other Canadian managers.

Cheers and good luck!

I hope that's not why people don't post. I make foolish posts all the time, but that's how you learn the game!

I agree, you post foolish stuff alot :P

But I think it is quite true. Some people are just more comfortable looking in. I for one read the forums for along time prior to getting involved.

The NT is not only for people with players on it. It is a place to see BuzzerBeaters best builds and how they are used tactically. Other than that it is a place that has some real good people, who enjoy helping there fellow BB'ers.

Childish? Maybe

I don't think it is childish. I sometimes send trash talk to my opponents before games and I usually try to start up some discussions in the league forum. I personally would enjoy this kind of thing if ever we get to play. ;-)

As for joining the NT discussion, you just have to look at The_Mogul. As far as I know, he does not have a U21 or NT player, but he was very active on the NT forum last season. He is actually still really active on the U21 scene. On the other hand, if it is not your cup of tea, I understand. But it is a great way to learn about tactics and to see what works or what does not work in BB.

Yeah i agree, i end up looking through a lot of the stuff in the forums, our Canadian forum in particular, and most of the time i do not post anything.
I do like to check out the NTs every once and a while just to see how they are doing and look at the tactics. It is a very good way to learn about the game as you hear expert advice from people like RiP and theoldchuckd ;) I learned a few things from it myself.

I am not sure what we could do to get some "advertising" for our NTs but we could post some sort of message to new users and maybe even add it to the Manager Tutorial to check your NT's status or at least their Roster. Just an Idea. Good luck, and i hope we can get some more Canadian managers interested which will in turn, make our Canadian teams and players better, as well as our NTs. Good stuff ;)

Advertising Idea...

Not sure if this would work. But maybe some of the game programers can put the link to all the NT games in each of the teams scheduals. Similiar to the BIg 8 VS. Great 8. Last season i ddint have a player in it but i still watched it. Perhaps if players watch the NT games it would get them more excited about thier NT team.

thoughts/concerns/praise?

Hey Guys,

I'm 1 and bit seasons into BB. I find it interesting and fun.
I tried the mentor thing with 3 different people who all had no time. So I kind of just gave up on it and will keep learning from my mistakes. I've also tried getting into the offline message boards and 3 times joined with no response. In my case its not from a lack of trying.
My main lack of Canada forum participation is due to the fact that I'm busy and really only have time for thing that game oriented. Unfortunately with a young son and 3 fantasy sports teams, BB and Metroho hockey sim there is isn't much time for forum posting.
