I can certainly admit when I am wrong. The way the C's are playing right now they may sweep their way into the finals. The Cavs and Magic are just laying down. Celtics can taste it and are playing that way. Another strong game for Rondo and yes the announcers are ridiculous talking about Rondo this and Rondo that but.........to be fair during Cavs games same thing about Lebron even for those of us who like him it gets tiresome.

Bottom Line--Celtics getting it done.

Honestly, a lot of time I wish I could watch games with the sound on but the announcers on mute. Van Gundy, Jackson and Breen is one of the better announcing teams in the NBA but they're nowhere near perfect. Breen, the play by play guy, has a constant hard-on for star players. In a way it makes sense, but most of the time I just wish he could keep his tongue from wagging whenever a guy makes a play. Certain plays do deserve the recognition, like when Rondo pulls off his ball fake to perfection or Dwight slams one home, but Breen also gets overjoyed at pedestrian plays. At one point last night he got super-excited about Dwight Howard making a little hook shot...only problem was the shot didn't go in! I don't mind the excitement, it is the playoffs after all, but sometimes he makes you forget there are other players on the floor.

I noticed you didn't say anything about stan van gundy. He says the dumbest things sometimes, I can't think of any quotes on the spot but you all know what I'm talking about. The problem with the anouncers at cavs games is that there's no one on the cavs besides lebron worth talking about. Mo Williams will have a good shooting performance once in a while, but he was garbage in the playoffs.

Also I do need to fully apologize, rondo is a great pg, and if he keeps inproving his shot I would easily consider him in the top 10 pgs. I really dislike players that can't shoot. How do you make it to the nba and you can't even shoot? Shooting is the essence of the game of basketball.

I'd guess that he's always been so much more athletic than his competition that he never needed to perfect a jumper. If NBA players have such trouble staying in front of him, imagine high schoolers trying to stop him. At Oak Hill he averaged 21 and 12. Before he transferred there for his senior year he put up 28 pts, 10 rebounds and 7.5 assists as a junior. I'm sure the players there just had no chance to stop him from getting to the rim.

There's also been a lot of attention on the fact that his hands are massive. It's the reason he can do such crazy things with the ball but part of the reason he's been such an awkward shooter. Same problem that big men have, but his form was also terrible and he never repeated it so every shot could go anywhere. Ray Allen has helped him with that and he worked with Mark Price in the offseason, so you're starting to see at least a consistent form and release point and much better results. At the HORSE game during the all star break him and Durant hit about 20 threes each and the announcers were like "Where is this coming from?"

Up until this season, his scoring ability has basically been like a pitcher with a 100 mph fastball who never bothered to learn off speed stuff since he didn't need it. He's worked on it though and he's getting better. Confidence plays a big part too. Early in his career he would be wide open with the shot clock running down. He'd lift up to take the jumper and last second he'd dish it off to a teammate as the shot clock hit zero because he had zero confidence in the shot. When you see him taking threes at the buzzer and jumpers with a minute left in a crucial playoff game, obviously confidence is no longer a problem.

Yeah i actually saw that horse game, i was terribly confused. I couldn't understand why he couldn't miss (I was also confused why he was in the horse competition). Then the next few games i watched him play he didnt shoot very well and it confused me even more. He was shooting so well in the horse game, but when he was in a real game his shot was much worse, and he doesnt take many shots that he isn't wide open for.

I understand that maybe he didn't need to take jump shots in highschool and college, but he never shot around at practice or just by himself whenever? Also the thing about his hands, I don't understand why having bigger hands would make it harder to shoot. Being able to palm a ball makes it so easy to shoot, even if his hands are insanely big I don't understand because for example I have shot around with a soccer ball before which is much smaller than a basketball and it's just so easy to shoot with. I could never comprehend why shaq shoots his freethrows like he does, I just thought he was dumb and didn't want to work on it.

the thing I like about Boston is, every guy on the court (except rashard) knows his role. they have slow, shooting half court team so they desperatly need rondo's quickness. I am still not sold rondo can run a team like sacramento, philly or even chicago.garnett acts like a glue on the court and in the locker room, I am sure without garnett they wouldn't be anywhere close to this level. (and I really hate his arrogance)

something about the draft lottery, I feel sorry for john wall. wizards should be the worst case scenario for him. good thing is he can shot the ball 50 times a night and the ball will be in his hands like 80% of the game.

I was having a good laugh during the lottery. First because the Nets got screwed out of the top pick but also because Philly sent Jrue Holiday, the rookie starting point guard as their representative. Once it was clear Philly had lucked into the top three, Holiday must have been up there silently praying for the 2nd pick instead of the 1st so that they couldn't draft Wall who would be his immediate replacement.

jrue is more of a shooting guard though isnt he?

Coaches are the most over rated and ridiculously paid people in the NBA. Bottom line is this for the most part in the NBA they come up with how they want tempo some plays etc but the players are the only ones that can get it done. Example Phil Jackson making 12 million give me a break. Yes he is a championship calibre coach if there is such a thing but 12 million this really shows what is wrong with the game.
