It's nice to see that you're having fun. New users that enjoy the game breed more new users that enjoy it. Obviously I don't mean breeding in the biblical sense :-)
The helpful community / admin side of this game is something we try to pride ourselves in. We want new people to feel welcome wherever they go in the game and the developers and staff are happy to be approachable and reachable in game issues. It's important to us and it's important for the game.
As far as the rules go, they could probably use some work, but having said that - we like to be ambiguous so that not everything is obvious. That would be boring :-)
I think I'd be more in favour of a basic guide to basketball to help new players understand what sort of things they need to look out for and adapt that to their team and their style of play. The number of users asking "who goes where" leads me to believe that we should probably address that at some point.
