Are there any humans at all in D6? The userbase of the USA could fit easily in 5 divisions (16 + 16 * 4 + 16 * 16 + 16 * 64 + 16 * 256 = 5456 teams available in 5 divs). I'd expect none, but at the same time hopefully we can grow into it someday so not much sense in taking it out

so how many teams are in the cup this season? some in my league are playing D6 opponents


Probably 8192 (next step up from the 4096 that were involved through last season).

its been 4096 for the US since about season 4 or before?


Yep. Look at your team history. If you lost in the first round of a given season, it will say you were one of the final 4096 teams.

The BB's want to add more money to the game, so they added an extra round of cakewalk games so those teams that usually lose round 1, can make 50k if they draw a bot.

Just a guess though.

That's a good case made Pride, but if they truly wanted to add more money to the game, why not stop releasing free agents into the market place every Tues-Thurs? All that cash just leaves the game forever and that is a much bigger hit to the economic structure than 50k to a few fortunate teams that draw the DVI.
