I have a different idea of how it works. I believe that points per 100 shots is calculated by multiplying a player's shooting percentage for the game by 200 (100 to make it a whole number and 2 because you get 2 points per bucket.) I don't think it takes into account either free throws or 3 pointers.
In this case the player went 14-20, which is .700, meaning his points per 100 shots for the game was 140. What the difference means is that your guy had a great day from the field.

That's the way I've been figgerin' since season 3, and it seems to be fairly reliable, with a +/- for FT's and 3's.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

So what accounts for the difference between 140.0 and 113.1 Points per 100 Shots, in this case? That's a pretty big difference.

I remember being told by GM-Kozlodoev that the Points per 100 shots is an estimation of how many points your player should score given their matchup over the course of the 48 minutes. Its not a measure of how many points your player actually scored. If thats correct then your guy just had a good shooting night.

I'm not sure, except Hadron said. Also, your opponent was much worse than you. I don't know if my idea of how it works is correct or not. It's just how I have always interpreted it.

that means the 140 guy dominated his matchup, or got just very easy baskets. 113 is still very good.

Yeah...I get that. I'm just trying to figure if its calculated from actually game statistics (apparently not) or is an estimate based on player skils, game shape, tactics etc.

not from game statistik, because then they are far off.

Your formula seems to be to complicated for me, because it always had to include the teammates etc. So i think its the prohability of the shots taken.
