If your profit is more than 40k, I would have invested 40k to scouting for 4 scouting points.

Scouting strategy goes together with training strategy. Decide if you want to train guards or big men and focus your scouting on those specific type of players.


Is this how most of the good managers do it? Buy veterans at a couple of positions (i.e. guards or Bigs) and train prospects at the other?

Yes. Some even get veterans for 4 positions and train 1 position, until they are finished and start working on the next one.
