Well I think overall, I'm sure there will be an increase in merchandise. But it's just variable in my opinion.

Well I think overall, I'm sure there will be an increase in merchandise. But it's just variable in my opinion.

I was under the understanding that "National Team" and "U21 Team" had very different meanings when it comes to merchandise; i.e., the former actually paying a merch bonus while the latter does not.

I think it all comes down to softening the salary paid by team that own NTers, which is not that big of an issue with U21 players.

Well whether a player is in U21 NT or NT doesn't matter. NT is a NT. I don't think the idea is to soften the salary paid by team that own NTers, the idea is that fans are happier and will buy more merchandise.

The merchandise is likely to increase if your player actually plays in the National Games. One of my trainees has become U21 member and he played 30 minutes last week, but my merchandise actually decreased, so it's perhaps not as reliable. From the game manual etc, it states that it will boosts the merchandise, but in my opinion, I really don't think it will make a significant difference.

Maybe you had a bad week or did some changes to your team. So far, based on my experience of owning NT players since season 3, having a player who plays in an NT game that week can give a considerable boost to your merchandise (up to 10k)...

Well I didn't change anything last week...but anyway, this week, my player got to play about 30 minutes again, so I'll see if my merchandise increases tomorrow.

Well my merchandise for this week dropped again...so I really don't see how having an NT player boosts the merchandise...well I'll have to keep observing.
My merchandise is ridiculously low for div I. It's only around 66k...but I guess it has to do with the fact that I have such a cheap rosters for div I.

Would there be a difference if a player was playing than to a player who was just on the roster???

Yeah true, I lack local players I guess. 2 of the scrubs are actually my draftees. I left them so that it'll hopefully boost my merchandise.
Like you mentioned, I'm training that Indian SF (he's the one who's in India U21 NT). In the future he'll be the star player in my team, so hopefully as his skills get better and better, the merchandise will gradually increase (although I probably won't notice the difference due to his skills getting beter).

But thanks for your comment and advice. It was helpful :)
