Thanks for the tips. I will take them onboard.

This week I have a bit of a dilemma with my minutes which were a bit over the place. If I do one position training I will be able to train only two of the three guys I have mentioned. But if I do two position training then all of them will be able to be trained this week. So should I make sure all of them are trained or should I just do the one position training and only get two players trained?

FYI the two players who would receive training are the first and the second guy I listed in my original post. The third guy could potentially get some minutes but it would be risky, and maybe the other two would miss out on their valuable minutes.

Since you've read this much so far, I may as well ask you about a problem I had this week with regards to training minutes for certain players. How do I manage the minutes of the players I want to train specifically when I am doing one position training? I find that when I decide the tactics for a player in the center position, especially the first guy in that already mentioned list, he is never able to fully complete a match by himself, I think this is due to his poor stamina, and so often he shares the position/minutes with someone else, this makes it really hard to get an even spread of 48 minutes between the three players. Are there any possible solutions to my problem?

Train stamina every time during allstar break and offseason. You will get 1/2 pops a season and it doesnt matter the age of the players. These weeks you won't be able to get 3 guys to play 48 mins in 1 pos training because you have 2 games max.

It is easy to train the id/reb/is cats but I think passing is hugely underrated, as are secondaries. If you can afford it, train passing when possible, even 2pos passing if you have to.

Only way to get 48 mins 3 pos training is to 'strictly follow depth chart' and play 9 players like this :
pg/pg
sg/sg
sf/sf
pf/pf
c/c (both being the same player)
and you remove any extra players from even "dressing for the game" (set lineup screen use the <=> thing to make them on the right not the left)

1 pos training is the way to go. It won't work perfect every week. Pick the two you like the most and go with them, use the third to get a few pops and maybe sell for a good profit when you can but it will be hard and inconsistent for you to get all 3 of them to pop with their staminas. They are more likely to foul/ get hurt.

edit: only the 1st has a really bad stamina. I'd try to play him the full 48 and hope it lasts. Maybe 3rd game (cup/scrimmage) you have to make him as a backup and have the 3rd trainee only get 30 mins or so but.. It could be worth it

Hey thanks for the advice about training stamina in the off-season and playoffs, makes sense and makes me wonder why I didn't think of it myself.

Unfortunately I got a bit confused by your other advice, in terms of setting up the tactical side of it. I understand and already do set my tactics to strictly follow depth chart, but what I'm slightly confused about is that you said to use 9 players. So basically I set the starter, back up and reserve roles for all the other positions using two players, except for the centre position where I set only one player, basically the guy I want to train, right?

That makes sense too, and I think I will employ it. I started writing this not sure if I should play nine players or 5 but after writing this your comments make more sense. If I have got it wrong let me know, otherwise I will take your advice on it. Thanks again.

you don't have to set the reserve role. What happens often is if you have more than 9 players availible to play (being on the left side) that 10th player will get playing time as a C regardless of what position they might play

Just take on the account that the salaries of big men rising really fast, and considering your div maybe you will not able to afford them after 1-2 seasons...

But I know what you mean, do you think I should maybe try and build a unconventional type center who has awesome secondary skills and not so high primary skills then?

Ok that sounds a bit weird to me can you explain it further, why would he get minutes as a C in that situation????

Actually yes. C's with only the primary skills are real common, and very cheap. It doesnt worth the effort. If you check the transfer list, you will see that players with very good 2ndaries are getting sold on very high prices, and for a good reason. A div 1 teams cant afford more than 850k salaries or so. So we where looking for better value for money. Whats that? an all around good player, even with lower primaries.

Sometimes in situations like a blowout if you have any players that are 'available to play' but maybe not in your lineup, they will get tossed into the game

Just had my game. I followed your advice and my main guy got 45 minutes, 3 short :( but I'm happy he was able to get 45 :) because of his atrocious stamina. I was just wondering in this situation where I have two other bigs to train at PG for passing, what should I do tactically to get the most minutes (from my other two bigs, while still getting the three minutes this main guy requires)?

Keep in mind the big which is most important is the one who got the 45 minutes of game time at PG. Maybe I should place him in a reserve role next game for the other big at PG?

I really wouldn't worry about it. Even with 45 minutes you will still receive almost full training.
You could try putting him as the reserve player for tomorrow's game and hope he picks up those 3 minutes, but it would maybe be more in your team interest to play him for 15 minutes elsewhere to get him the perfect 60 minutes for his gameshape, as that will have him performing better.
