That's a nice suggestion. Athleticism is a very important part of real basketball. But you have to make sure that players with low athleticism can still compete.

Check the Suggestions they are important

They'll compete, but on more realistic level.
You take two players with atrocious JS and OD, one is 5'9 the other is 6'6. OK, and let's say atrocious DR and HA. Two amateurs. Do you think the 5'9 guy can compete? Yet, miraculously after 14 weeks of equal training for both the 5'9 guy will own 6'6 guy, c'mon!

Athleticism!

1. It follows BB's training speed trend e.i. it depends on height. Here 6'7 being fastest, 5'9 and 7'5 slowest.
2. It transitions smoothly with NOBODY getting short changed. The SFs some people worked so hard on get a slight advantage due to initial skill set up. 6'7 respectable, 6'6 and 6'8 average and so on with 5'9-6'1 and 7'1-7'5 atrocious.
3.The salaries balance out, what a miracle!
4.You can play SF trainees more as SFs. Athleticism training: SFs/Wingmen/Team
5.Players of all heights can be valuable not just 5'9 and 7'5 players.
6.BB will become more realistic, which will increase interest in BB! Athleticism will affect JS, OD some, IS, ID, RB, SB some more.
7.Shot Blocking can gain strength and cease to be a useless skill, another winner!
8.The introduction of Athleticism will bring a lot of excitement to existing BB members, stopping them to give up on BB.
9. There aren't any negatives. Of course a lot of work needs to be done. But since there's a commitment to change and improvement by BB anyway, why not this?

Maybe for now BB could implement only #2(initial set up) as a hidden skill, like aggression. It can be very subtle as well: 10% effect on JS, OD and 25% on IS, ID, RB, SB. But of course the possibility to develop athleticism in a player would be much more exciting.

but the main problem is that the giants are so weak currently ;) And why should player start to throw better or weaker from one day to another, or rebound etc. If you train skills you already train everything which is part of i, which means for rebounding blocking out, leaping etc. I think you could every skill in BB in a dozen smaller skills.

Athletism at least for me isn't also a skill where this size had an advantage^

?? Why are you talking about giants? The change is mainly beneficial for 6'6- 6'8.

To neutralize 6'7 guys disadvantage, to make it realistic, to attract more people to play BB?

Try, and you actually see that Athleticism should be in 6 of them, not just RB and SB.

OK, so maybe it's more like 10% affect on JS, OD, RB, SB and 25% on IS, ID. So you don't have to change GE for RB, SB.

i talk about giant, because a main argument is that the medium sized guys are so weak. And personally i love a medium size guy more then a 7 footer as a draft.

and we could end with 100 skills in the end ;) At some point u had to make generalizing, and even atletticsm could be separate in speed, strength, balance, leaping, acession etc. And for me lot of those skills didn't favour the 2m guys, when you watch on the professionals in that sports.

Just to stop the absurd argument and help people to come out of denial.

BBs player heights divide evenly in three groups:
a) 5'9-6'3
b) 6'4-6'10
c) 6'11-7'5

Question 1: Which group contains most superstars and the best players in real life?

Question 2: Which group contains most superstars and the best players in BB?

Q1: No ideas, all of them but sometimes one group has advantage and the next years the other ;)

Q2:
i would go for morel and kienbink as the superstars of BB, and player nearly every franchise had ;)

That's rich, man! You either don't watch basketball at high level, or you're really in denial.

really group one: Derrick Rose (most likely the MVP this season), Nash, Wall

Group two: leBron; Wade, Durant; garnett(could be also 3), blake(just in there because you draw weird lines), Kobe

Group 3: Nowitzky, Howard, Love; duncan and maybe even Ming(even when he is more star for beeing chinese, but he definately had the potential to be more)

i see in every group some stars ;) Thats mostly the important names who are in the rumble for personal honours in this season or won them in the past years.

Edit. forgot Kobe ;)

Wall is 6'4, Rose is a good example. he's 6'3 but very athletic. Nash is a poor defender due to his lack of athleticism.

Now, Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Durant, Blake, can you honestly back it up with Ming and Nowitzky?
Love is 6'10, Howard is 6'11 and very athletic, Garnett is 6'11 to be fair.

Add Melo, Pierce, Artest, Ginobili, J Johnson (biggest salary btw), J Rich, Odom fighting for honours..

They're stars of their teams: G Wallace, Iguodala, Roy, Gay, Granger, DeRozan:)

It's a ridiculous conversation. Cause not only these guys aren't superstars at BB, they're the worst!!
