From what I have been told, there will be~7 debotification promotions in USA IV this season. I had a record of 21-1 with a PD of ~800. I think I was 17th in line for debotification promotion.

Basically, you will need a good record and PD to have any hope of promotion. If you have one loss the odds are against you. If you have more than one loss the odds are even longer (and perhaps zero).

I do have two questions. First is this order correct?

Each team that wins their division is promoted to the division above.
Each team that came 8th is demoted to a random division below.
Each team that lost a relegation series is demoted.

Then bot cleanup takes place. Each bot team is dropped to the lowest level in the nation. This could include a bot team that just won their division and was promoted literally seconds ago. This creates more gaps. For each gap the computer then looks for the best team in the level below that has the best regular season record but didn't win the championship. That team is promoted.

If the team in the lower league that has the best record is itself a bot, will it be promoted over other human teams?

it will end up in a bottom division, like every other bot.

the bot will 'promote' over other humans in that league if they win the playoffs, but as the quote says, the bot will then demote even if it was promoted seconds ago, and then a human (based on roughly what others have said so far) will take their spot. I think that's to explain why a bot that wins their league in a low division will move to a different league.

The part of the quote i didn't think is true is that the bot team will drop to the lowest level in the nation, but I guess I'll find out after the next offseason update to see if BC Tooroo is in div2, or div5 in canada.

Thanks guys for all of that. So there is another bot cleanup after the bot cleanup.

As for dropping down. Last season we had a team in the ABBL Australia's top league go bot. This team the CoolCats had even won two national championships. This season the team is now the punjabi lakers in division IV the lowest in Australia. Here is a little from their history.

In season 2, CoolCats were crowned champions of league Australia II.4
In season 8, CoolCats were crowned champions of league Australia ABBL
In season 9, CoolCats were crowned champions of league Australia ABBL
In season 9, CoolCats were one of the final 128 teams in the B3
In season 10, CoolCats reached the quarterfinals of the Battlers Tournament
In season 14, CoolCats lost the relegation series and were relegated from league Australia ABBL

And in season 15 the punjabi lakers have a 5-17 record and are at the bottom of league IV.22.

Actually, there are 6 non champions from DIV that will promote...and you are currently #14; not that it matters...you are well on your way to easily winning your championship!!

Congrats :-)

It's 6, and from what I see, you finished 7th on the list. You actually finished tied for 6th, but his Points For was higher so you missed it by one team. Sorry :-(
