Well the training for SF/PF/C is 2/3 as fast as to training PF/C. Maximum training minutes is 48 * 2/3 = 32 So this would be the break-even point. So unless you have some SF player who is young, i would take option A.

About the minutes. I think that stamina has a lot of influence on playing minutes, apart from injuries and P's. When i trained IS i had 2 good PF and 2 good C and for both 1 backup. In the two important games let 1 start and the other was reserve and in the second match visa versa. So after two matches at least one of the players had played 48 minutes. In the third match i let the other player be reserve so he will play his last needed minutes. The backup could start the third game. Ideally both players played 48 minutes so the backup is the guy who will play the hole match and also receive full training.

Hope this is any good for you.

It's not a known fact, AFAIK.
Duxmaster, if you've researched this point, please put your findings in this thread (381.1), for everyone to enjoy (If you wish to share of course).
CocoLoloMomo,
Even if Duxmaster is right, the main question would be what is the training penalty for playing less than 48 minutes. The penalty might put your two players with less than 2/3 training. Again, I don't know of any research in this matter, if someone else does, please let us know.
