Wow. You guys from USA Div. III.11 are on top of things. Two from that league answering my questions faster than I can ask them.

I guess that's the advantage of playing in the upper levels..... more activity. In my league, things are dead. Most of the teams are bots, and the few that are not bots are forfeiting every game or show up once per month and set a lineup. I fully plan to win my league and get out of this lower division.

I know that sometimes teams that do not win the division still promote. Any ideal how that works? What I would have to do besides win my division to promote?

To go from D5 to D4 USUALLY a 21-1 record plus winning your division is enough to bot promote. Bot promotion is what happens when teams in divisions higher than you go bot (inactivity or locked for cheating), but do not automatically relegate due to finishing 5th or higher, or due to winning a relegation series even though they are a bot. This cleanup takes into consideration that first you win your conference, then you have to have a better record than other teams that do not promote due to winning the league championship. 21-1 should do it and sometimes 20-2 teams with high PD make it as well. It just depends on the season. Is this clear as mud?

I'd win the championship just to be safe. My teams one of the many examples of teams that promoted via bot cleanup last season. I went 21-1 and had a PD of 815. Just couldn't beat those damn Preyers! There is also another team in my league (1st place right now) that got promoted via bot cleanup. They also went 21-1 so it's rare to promote with a 20-2 record. You also have to be first in your division, or your team is not even considered, even if you only lost one game.

Yea, thanks. Kinda what I figured.

In my league last season, two teams promoted. One won the overall title in our division. The other went 21-1.

I'm in no real rush to promote just to face tougher teams. My team is not ready for the move up. I'd love to have a couple seasons to build my trainees up. But, the inactivity in a Div. 5 league like I am in now kills me. Only four human teams, maybe 5 if you count those that are forfeiting and have not shown up since Season 17.

Thanks for the info.
