The problem isn't the tactics, the problem is more likely the roster you're trying to play those tactics with.

Anyways, looking at your game, you shot a fantastic percentage from 2 and a decent percentage from 3 so I'm not exactly sure what it is you're complaining about?

If I choose a Inside Offense tactic it's because I only want my team to score the ball INSIDE, bad shot or not


Why would you not want the best shot available. Regardless of your reasons i dont think the GE can be held accountable for you not wanting the best shots available in each possession

And even the most extreme inside offense cannot be expected to score the ball ONLY inside. Nor should it.

What is the point of calling it an inside tactic though if consistently 1/3 of the shot selection is outside? Makes no sense whatsoever. Also I would call raining bricks from the 3 point line the "best shot" available. Even if there is a higher differential on OD to JS/JR and IS to ID.

Please tell me how I have the wrong roster for inside tactics when I have 1 player Proficient (9) IS, 2 players Prolific (11) IS, 1 Tremendous (13) IS vs. 1 player at Wondrous (14) JS/Respectable (7)JR, 2 players at Prominent (10) JS/Respectable JR. Clearly I'm more potent on the inside since my highest JR is Respectable (7). (My player with Wondrous JS has the Proficient IS)

I've had this problem since the start of season 18. In my last game I was going 2 for 13 or something to that extent for 3 until the 4th quarter. It was actually really bad with my game against Wetduck in my league. We were tied going into the 4th and he ended up blowing me out by 15 or so because my SG decided he was going to take over the game and ended up going 0 for 9. If that is the best shot possible over and over in the 4th quarter then I must be stupid.


Edit: I say blown out which to me by definition is more than 10 points but is probably an exaggeration to others. Also turns out it was only by 12 and not 15.

Please remember, you're asking people to answer a question when we can't see all the attributes of your players.

But here are some possible explanations.

Perimeter players with lower passing skills won't be able to get the ball inside as easily and willl take more outside shots instead. If they have lower driving skills, that option won't be available for your guards either. The lower their surrounding skill set, the more likely to get stuck with the ball in their hands as the shot clock winds down and take a long shot because they can't create better options.

And while the strengths and weaknesses of your players matter, so do the strengths and weaknesses of your opponent's players and whatever defense they play against you. In your case, your PF-C players look like they`re excellent passers. They had 16 assists in the game. So it`s likely that the ball did go inside to them and the best option then became a pass to an open teammate.

It's obvious that you have some pretty good players for your league, but that doesn't mean that LI is the best offense for your curent roster. You`ll have to experiment to figure that out. Either way, there is absolutely nothing broken in the game engire with LI. In fact, most people in this game think that offense has become to easy to play and to tough to defend assuming that you have the right players to play it.

You cannot expect 100% of your shots to be from inside? 2/3 or 1/4 of all shots is a pretty good percentage.
Otherwise JS and JR would be made obsolete.

I just did. Nobody can see everything about your players so you have to figure out the rest my friend.

As it is, I don`t think you have nearly the problem that you`re claiming, your players are still going to shoot 3`s with inside tactics no matter who is on your roster.

Not necessarily just from your PG- having a good passing SG helps tremendously as well. As others have said, DR is a big skill if you're looking for a good LI. While having all of your guys with high IS will dramatically help your FG% inside the arc, all that does is ensure once the ball gets there, the chance of conversion is high. If your FG% wasn't high, then that might be something wrong with the game engine. Having team offensive flow at "inept", combined with, like you're saying, not your ideal 2pt/3pt shot ratio, leads me to believe your issue lies more with getting the ball in a position to score inside, rather than intentionally looking for a 3pt shot.
