Naptown is the man to listen to. My only tip is don't get carried away with buying too many expensive free agent guys. balancing your books will be one of your key challenges early on, that is until you have built up membership/attendance at home games and expanded your stadium. 2 more bits (i) save your scouting dollars until later and (ii) don't get carried away with hiring quality staff until later.

Naptown what are your thoughts on scouting and staff?

Yeah I agree. I dont spend that much on scoutsexcept for only a couple times. AND Mugs is right. It was torward the end of the season. I sometimes spend an hr on this forum looking over other manager's Q&A's. I have learned a ton and still learn new stuff weekly it seems. I do know one..Build you're main core of like 3guys and build accordingly around them. Don't fall in love with players. I've done it before and it sucked when I sold them ONLY to get a bigger badder-ass player.
Right now I hope to be set to advance, if not, I am buying a 35k weekly big man and finally sell off 2 or 3 guys to get him.
8 players is a good number and get a couple of scrubs so you can balance out game shape.
