It is nice but with only BBMarin seeming to still be on board I would hate to see this done ahead of some other things that are far more critical. I like the player of the game idea even more and I can't believe they have never done it but again I think there are other things that need to come first.

But this is very similar to running the all-star rosters election every week, which should be very easy in terms of dev resources.

You could evaluate your league for yourself and issue this type of thing.
...
deciding a weekly MVP or player of the week could be cool....but you could actually spend sometimes looking through your league games....grab the standout of each team for each game, then compare and....pick one.

First of all, with that kind of logic, why even have a MVP-voting, statlist on standingspage and so on... why not "evaluate your league for yourself".
Lets present statistics in a fun and/or relative matter, easy to understand wich adds to the feel of the game.

Player of the week seems more relevant...in a week we have 2 games and everyones schedules with only 16 teams...seems impossible to me to decide 'team of the week'....

Fine, this I buy. BB could slim the voting down to one player of the week. Maybe offensive player of the week and defensive player of the week. Maybe one per conference to make more players/teams involved.
