Round 2

(55371548)
BC Pisatel 61
Beanz Odyssey 94

This was the second of the 6 non gimme games the Odyssey would have in this seasons B3 and the result was the same. A big time win. Beanerz went for a different approach and used only 7 players as opposed to 11 the previous week. Most of the players were fine except for Kumar. He finished with 2-12 shooting from the floor. When questioned he replied with, "Beaners is a mad man. 45 minutes!? Hell naw!". Kumars weak performance allowed 19 year old Canadian phenom Spadaro to get 3 minutes of action. His first three in B3. He was fascinated at the level of competition, "I cannot believe I got to see floor time and not in the wiping away any spills way! I cant believe beanerz believes in me to play at this stage already! A dream come true!". GM-beanerz said this in response, "Coach Reggie was not supposed to play him. We are now looking for a new coach." Duncan Arsenault once again led all scorers with an impressive 26 points on 12-18 shooting. With this win the Odyssey should finish no worse than 4-4, but will require at least a 6-2 record with really good PD to qualiy for the knockout stages.

(55371533)
Rip City Blazers 73
Philosopher Kings 104
The Kings keep on rolling. With a big victory over RiPs hometown team, the Kings move to 2-0 and are looking better than ever. The upgrade of Miranda over Richards seems to have put this team over the top, however it was Waldemar Hielscher-Uhl who shined in this game as he played 48 minutes and dropped 36 points, grabbed 19 rebounds and had 11 of those rebounds in the offensive end. Thats right folks, 11 Offensive rebounds. There was not much defense being played at the PF spot though as his counterpart, Mart Raud dropped 37 points in the same amount of time. RiP was questioned about playing the city that was named after him and he said, "Its just another game. Actually, its just another win."

Okay so I have missed a few of these. Ill try and make up for it.

Beanz Odyssey(24876)(2-3)
After an awesome 2-0 start beanerz and his Odyssey have fallen. In B3 it is 3 strikes and you're out! A tough overtime loss to Papgallos(55371647) was the first strike. Then what seems to have been a lineup mistake against a strong Compassvale United team(55371732) was the second. Finally, up against former B3 champion and chinese powerhouse Dionysus, the Odyssey were crushed by 31 points(55371814). Just like that, any hope of qualifying for the knockout stages is virtually gone and the final 3 games, for pride and world rank!

Next three games:
Whitebeard(38625) - The Aussie team has yet to lose this season in B3 and no one remembers the last time they lost a league game. This team is rolling and even though the Odyssey will be at home, this All-Aussie squad should continue rolling on Wednesday.

Mattaroa BC(39164) - After the All-Aussie squad beanerz gets the All-Portugese team! Luckily this team is a lot weaker, with a two week injury to their starting SG, the Odyssey should have all the advantage it needs to win this one.

Black Ravens(176420) - The Odyssey will get a nice morale boost to finish off their B3 campaign this season. That boost will come in the shape of an ass-whooping delivered to this team from Kazakhstan. A nice way to finish off their campaign.

Beanz Odyssey should finish 4-4 this season, a very respectable record for a team in the B3. Theyll have 3 good wins to show for it and a tough schedule to blame ;)

Philosopher Kings(24916)(5-0)
The Kings have been on an absolute tear this season. A perfect record in the B3 has resulted in this team vying for the number 1 spot in the knockout stage. It started with a 37 point victory over the Ralland Warriors(55371664). Continued with a 33 point win over the Leipzig Lakers(55371749) and culminated with a 27 point destruction of the world #1 team Harley Davidson(55371867). In that final match the Kings had the smallest margin of victory and an absolutely insane Outside Defense rating as they put up a wondrous(low) OD rating in 4 quarters of BB.

Next three games:
fiorentina minsk(185804) - This won't be contest. Just some nice PD padding for their bid at #1.

Pistoleroi(117474) - This team has had some pretty good ratings with some not often used tactics, but ultimately the Kings are a B3 contender and will roll through this squad.

Loyk UTD(26699) - This will probably result as the Kings biggest test of the prelimiary games. A strong Swedish team on the road. Fortunately, that means that the margin of victory for the Kings will probably be in the 10-20 range as opposed to the regular 30+. No worries here.

Barring injuries or fluke, the Kings will finish off 8-0 and move onto the knockout stages where they stand as one of the favourites to win this seasons B3 and bring the cup back where it belongs. Onwards Rip!

Undefeated Whitebeards no more!!

Great write ups Bballin they are certainly appreciated by me :)

The Odyssey should have had a far better fate in the B3 competition. But unfortunately I made two brutal errors and in both cases I took beating from lesser teams imo. The errors both related to using blanks that resulted in my best players either not playing or playing terribly out of position. I am hoping that I can find away to be back in the B3 next season and really make a push to advance.

In one game yes :) I changed to a blank at the last minute...

My lie up was the exact opposite of what I would want. Center played PG, , SG played center, PF played SG etc. It was pretty special.

Yeah I've done it a couple of times. Fortunately, mostly in PL games so I didn't care. I lost a game or 2 early last season I think though from doing that.

Well we have one Canadian team in the knockout stages, but it is not surprising to see the Philosopher Kings in the knockout stages. After finishing the preliminary games 8-0 they sat in 3rd place. The Philosopher Kings faced off against their Indian opposition Diamond Phoenix in a game that was pretty much decided before it began. The Kings sprinted out to a 14 point lead and never looked back defeating Diamond Phoenix handily, 122-72(55503643). Essa Abu-Kaleel continued his dominating season with 16 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds for an impressive all around performance.

RiPs squad no faces off against french opposition Joue Basket Club led by two French NT members. Another win is expected for the Kings as they are heralded as one of the favourites for the tournament this season.

Bring the trophy home RiP! Do us proud!
