The above posters are all correct, plus your next game is on the road, so even if you happen to lose, you still have an easily winnable road game that should boost back up any attendance drop.

If you're 100% sure that you can hold onto 1st place the final 2 games, play TIE. And keep playing TIE all the way to the playoffs.
Even then, if your opponent plays crunch, he's going to kill his enthusiasm for the playoffs.
