If I was you, I would rather target players with high starting skills, but low potential. I imagine they aren't expensive, and will turn out solid.

I didn't mean to criticize your signing. I thought that you can probably find better all around players, look for guys with 50+ skills and low potential, they shouldn't be too expensive.
What you should do, is look for as much skills total as you can. At lower levels these guys are cheap.
Take a look at my team
My starting PG 10k salary, has 9 IS, 7 ID
backup PG 3k salary 7 ID, 6 SB
starting SG high salary veteran
baskup SG 5k salary skills
7/7
9/7
7/7
4/7
6/8
starting SF everything 6-9
pg trainee 3k salary 8 ID, 6 SB, 6 IS
sf trainee 4k salary all solid skills
C trainee 8k salary 8 OD
starting C high salary player
backup C 7k salary 7 OD
Anyway, all of my players were bought very cheap, and have tons of skills, compared to salary.

OD to 10, then around 2 pops on passing, and 1vs1 for the rest of the season iff there's weeks left. That's what i would recommend. Nice Trainee! Congrats!

I like him! How about bringing his IS, ID and SB up to 8 maybe? Then switch to primary skills. I think he has time, and you need some time before he starts growing in salary too.
Id would grow further from OD training, and Is would grow from some future 1v1training. Or even pump his IS up to some level, and then switch to primaires.

First off, he is a nice trainee. However, since he is only 6'0", it would take him a long time to get increase his ID. Maybe you could get his IS to strong, otherwise I just let ID pop with OD. To start off, I recommend getting his OD/PA to 8. After that, I would train JS/1v1 Guards to get his JS/HA/DR up.
