Well with me tanking and Radiation turned bot, it's indeed much more confortable being on the blue side...

His players are well multiskilled, much like Joe's, but there are things I can't understand, like that ridiculous 8/18 at free throws whereas all my players except one have at least 10 !

That will make my life miserable without TV income this season :/

Well, the issue with the FT is not so important, the game engine calculates the results before the game is shown and if it would not have been the FT's it would have been a key player sent out for 6 fouls or anything else. It is just a scenario created in the 15 minutes before the game that you see on screen, not always very realistic indeed and very frustrating when it goes that way! Although, sometimes, even in real games, it happens that players/teams with a very good FT percentage has a terrible night...

...and Bradok, yes, better be on the blue side this season, 1 bot and you tanking makes everybody else's life much easier this season to stay in BBBL without putting too much effort (financially speaking), 6th seat being the worst case scenario now for the rest of us :)

You will have a very cool season indeed, of course there is mumu, but look at the teams in the other conference :p

About Radiations, it is a pity he didn't turn bot before the start of the season ... Makes it far less interesting for everyone.

Yeah...and Mumu is my rival + TV game, I like it! :-)
Good thing I have the promotion boost until the all-star break ^^

Btw, the TV contracts are 212k, is it more or less that last season?

Hey dude,

I'm sorry about the opening game.
Didn't mean to ruin it for you.
I just thought I had a chance and went for it. And I got very lucky with your bad free throw day.

Have fun during the rest of the season.

Welcome to all new teams! Some familiar names and old rivals there!
And yes, my bet is on Joe, for winning it all once more.

Regards,
H

I ruined your PO last season, winnig games means someone other has to lose them.

Just, I had Joe and Q ahead of me. Now I have you and Joe. I can't speak for blue teams since I only encounter them once a season, but I'm far from being the king in my castle.

Maybe this is what I needed to make the necessary changes in my squad.

At least, I remember a home defeat to Q several seasons ago provoked that already.

i love how everyone seems to have decided upon the fact that Joe will win another title.

i'm pretty sure he's on the TL looking for reinforcements but you if you look at his team:

he's got 3 guards and 3 PF's. that means that he's got a very very shallow rotation. futhermore he's sure to be lurking for the cup. i'm pretty sure that Joe has some financial musscle to flex, but he just sold his arguably most valuable player. a player who he could put on any position (well maybe not the C).

he's invested in some youth this season. If i recall correctly, he did a simular thing a couple of seasons ago and then Mizu was champion for 3 straight seasons (at which point Joe had retooled his team again for his second dominant run).

As far as i'm concerned, there is no way Joe could become a champ without adding atleast 2 players to help his rotation. Joe tends to sell his player at 33-34 years old. Unless if i'm severly mistaken, that means that Joe will be lose another 3 core players within the upcomming seasons.

so i'm expecting Joe to transition his team for a while. sell out his remaining stars while he trains 2 or 3 new top notch players. but doing that means he will have holes in his line up. holes that can be exploited. Someone else could be the top dog in the red conference this season. I'm expecting Joe to focus on the cup for a while. futhermore. 1 or 2 injuries to his top 6 players and Joe is going to be scrambling to get a line up that can win 2 BBBL games a week.

Having a strong starting line up is nice, but you need to have some rotation players. and that is one thing that Joe is currently severely lacking. He's far from unbeatable.

i'll even write it down now: unless if the spartans decide to sell players, i'd dare put the Wolves and the spartans as 1 & 2 in the red conference (if Joe keeps his team as it is now and allows for some financial influx while training up youngsters).

And provided that Joe doesn't add players to his team, i wouldn't be surprised if the winner would be in the blue conference due to radiations botification. Blue side has atleast 1 free win compared to the red side in their advantage. that means that if the top dog on the blue side plays it out well then he has a pretty decent chance of having HCA in the PO finales (which is a HUGE advantage)

Despite Radiations botification, this should be a fun season. And what's more, there is a ever so slight chance that Joe might not represent Belgium in the BBB next season (tho if Joe goes far in the cup i'd expect him to add a player to make sure that he can take the cup again).

so despite Radiations botification we could potentially be at a very nice crossroads this season. A lot can happen and this season really could serve as a launching pad for some teams (especially the blue side since they get to get their economies sorted out without getting relegated directly).

Best of luck to all.

and last but not least: i'm gonna make a bold prediction, but i'm predicting a Steamrollers - Spartans Finals matchup. now you have it. not everyone thinks that Joe is gonna win it this season. I know i shouldn't count him out, but as his team is now i'm not prepared to consider him a frontrunner for the title

Hello again Revo :)

Nice first post this season :p

That Joe has sold his most valuable player isn't right. Joe's MVP is MArshall, he's one of the best players in the world, and I doubt he'll ever leave the Cowboys unless he starts losing stats. Backaert was a useful player, the only reason he got sold is his age, and Joe had more than a fair amount of money for such an aging player.

Anyway, the following of Backaert is Ibisov, (and also maybe Rotsaert at some point) and although I agree they are not still ready to see action now, they will be BBBL players 3 seasons from now on, and I think Joe has already a plan to field both of them in easily winnable games.

So, nevertheless he may be lacking a player. But he has money enough to land in a reasonable reinforcement, but which one ? With Quanyi out, Aquino was in for a B3 bet which didn't unfortunately paid off, but I'm pretty sure this will be some sort of SF, maybe slightly PF-oriented. I can't help thinking he's searching more inside than outside.

One thing though : never get fooled by Joe's team ratings. Those ratings completely hide the multiskill behind the players on the pitch, and while he may not seem as strong as usual, I don't expect a radical drop before the departure of Canipel, which may take up to another 2 seasons.

But that's right, Canipel won't be easy to replace, especially if a belgian player is mandatory. Okrajek was on the TL some time ago, but they're the same age. The one that most looks like him (although there is still work to do) is Vaes, but he's going just nowhere (and he's not as good as Canipel anyway).

All that to say, Vottem are still number 1 and for me, Wolves is second. They already were a very dangerous team last season, with that spanish PF they are extremely dangerous.

On the blue side, I don't think mumu will end up first, I think eagles are still my favourites for the held the core of their team from last season ; Providence still lacks 1 big outside player to be fighting for it, for Angels is is just the opposite and I think you need one more big man, but I'd tip on FTA. I don't know the players well (except Foreitovoras), I suppose Oksa is getting trained (I suspect a little lack of jump range) and will evolve into a fine SG, while Alé is totally unknown to me, but judging on his two first games he's seriously serious. Tienen should be in, although Ballert isn't getting any younger now.

So, blue side :

Eagles
Tienen
FTA
Mumu

Red side :

Cowboys
Wolves
Spartans
Estrellas

I forgot to speak about Ventola, training his own players is paying off for Jona, but he sold many key (but old) players, and needs to rebuild. I can tell you he has money in the bank :p

A little word from my own team anyway.

I was struck hard by the outcome of the first game this season, I really felt like 2 seasons ago when I started with 2 defeats to Joe and Q. Although I had hoped to get victory at home against Mizu I was completely outclassed : http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/69288484/boxscore.aspx

Back then I realized I would never be able to fight with Joe and Q and dropped it, allowing the departure of my best players (Santoianni, Manyoki, I remember having almost Marichal back then). Unfortunately, Q also dropped it a little later.

I was on the verge of doing it again, but first I realized that starting all over again has it's limits, if you never try you never succeed ; second I found the C I was looking for since a very long time, and this was just too nice to pass it up.

So I'm taking a huge risk, I have spent an incredible amount of money, and I won't be earning anything this season, that's for sure, but I will fight. I really can't wait to see a fit Dabnys come into action at the start of the game.

Good season to all of you !
