A question for you then, and I'm genuinely interested in the answer:

In your opinion can the OP do anything better with his money than build the arena at this point?

His team is 8 weeks old in an almost all-bot league. He's selling out at current prices and can't change for 3 weeks. He has what looks like 6 cheap 18-year-old trainees in place.

What else would you consider spending money on?

Not sure what his trainer situation is, but getting an advanced+ trainer would be first.

Then I'd focus on building seats. If it were me I'd focus on getting to 6000/1000/150/20 min before promoting (at least) since you draw the most cash right after you promote.

Trainer, players, seats.
Players, trainer, seats.
Seats, players, trainer.
Seats, trainer, players.
Players, seats, trainer.
Trainer, players, seats.

There are always more things to consider than just mindlessly building an arena to the exclusion of all other considerations.

I'm saving up for a really good american trainne perferablly a shooting gaurd. Hopefully a future prospect of under21 and national team. I'll maybe save up to 1 to 2 million then hit the transfer market for a american player under the age of 21 once the weekend hits. Then it back to arena upgrading.

Heading on the right path so far. Are you?

I don't disagree, but you're sort of avoiding the question.

You have a specific example to work with, and the opportunity to consider all those other things. What's your strategy?

The current economic climate is the perfect time to invest in arena if at all viable. With player and staff markets so heavily inflated, it's better to spend on the expenses that are fixed price. Not only will you need less money to buy players/staff when the prices come down, you'll also have better infrastructure when you're ready to promote.

Balance. Flexibility.

There is a time to be proactive and there is a time to be reactive, and you have to be ready for both. You may plan to enlarge your arena, but you better know what your roster needs at the same time, and if that right player appears at a reasonable price, jump at the chance. And when there is no pressing roster need and no player at a reasonable price, be prepared for the next step in arena building.

Tip #2: Build your arena on an "as needed basis". I see that you've read some threads saying you should build your arena ASAP. While this is not bad advice it may not be the best possible way to build.
ROFLMFAO. Exactly what I said. So I guess don't listen to this yahoo, either.
