Yeah. This game takes time, patience, trial and error.
I used to invest in two points a week. I'd spend 10 points on group demonstration and the rest on scouting some of those players again individually. Then I'd adjust the draft order based on potential and rating information I got. However, I haven't spent money on scouting in a while. I rather just save 10k a week and hope I get lucky at the end of the season in the draft. If I do get an 18 year old with all-star potential or higher, I sell him. As far as the skill scouting, I have no experience with it, since they added it into the game after I stopped scouting. I haven't even theorized about it at all.
