Some players do foul more often than others. I can certainly verify it. Just check out the player stats, and you can see some players consistently foul more. Most of them play for me at some point.

I had a trainee C get ejected in last night's game for two technical fouls. Aside from never seeing that happen here before, I'm guessing he's going to be a foul prone player. Makes me wonder whether or not he's worth training at all.

I'm not sure if technicals indicate a more foul prone player, but last year I sold a player because he just kept fouling out before getting 48 mins.

Chronological order, games I attempted to get him training, fouls in brackets or foul outs in bold:
scrimmage 40 mins, cup (4), league (3), cup 27 mins, cup 47 mins, cup 46 mins, cup (3), cup (4), league 38 mins, scrim 32 mins (and this was the final straw)

So that's a total of 6 foul outs in 10 games he started, and no less than 3 fouls in the others, pretty impressive. He actually hasn't fouled out for his new team yet, so maybe he just hated me or the rest of my players?

I had a player pick up 2 fouls in the same minute late in the third quarter of the first game of a finals series, and the 12 point lead I had at the time evaporated into a two point loss. He was definitely an aggressive player, and he hadn't had any fouls to that point in the game so I thought I was in pretty good shape.

I've had a few ejections. Three I think. I don't think it is a certainty that your player is foul prone, but its not a good sign. I've trained foul prone players in the past, and its difficult. In the end I had to go with just training two players, as three is just impossible if one if foul prone.

I just bought three trainees. Because they hadn't played before I had no way to check their past, but so far, out of six attempts, only one has made it through 48 minutes. He also managed over 47 minutes in one game so he seems almost sane compared to the other two. I'm in for a frustrating time I'm sure.

Follow on question. Are there players which draw fouls more?

It is assumed that if you are foul prone, you also get fouled more by other players because of your physical nature. I think every player has a hidden physicality characteristic which determines these things.

Do you have any proof? It seems to be logical but in our world, in our basketball. However, there is just a game engine here. For example look on my young player - http://www.buzzerbeater.com/player/42340585/overview.aspx - he fouls a lot but is not fouled by oponents.

So the in game assumption is foul prone players also draw more fouls, or at least its the same 'hidden attribute'?

also you would think the foul prone attribute would be connected to the SB attribute, not the defensive attribute. If you look at the stats, high volume shot blockers are also high volume foulers.

Further, if the game is mirroring real life, defensive ability doesn't correlate to fouling. D'Antoni's Suns were consistently one of the least fouling teams despite their possessions per game and defensive abilities.
