With regard to the cup, I'd make two changes:

1) Add a preliminary round so that all teams participate in the cup. This would involve about 2/3 of the teams in the lowest division, and could be played on the opening Thursday of the season. I'd continue to use the random draw, but the preliminary round would be chosen from the lowest divisions.

You'd need a way to let the other teams know that they were still in the cup, but that they could schedule a scrimmage for the first week. One way to do this would be to have some indication of which teams are in the cup on the league standings page. Right now, you have to click through to each team's schedule.
I wouldn't mind having all the cup results for league teams available on the league page.

2) When choosing home teams for subsequent rounds, try to balance it for any team. If the two teams have had the same number of home games, flip a coin - but if one team has had fewer home games, play at their arena.

I'm also in favor of a balancing out. Home teams have a big advantage.

We do not archive starters for past matches currently, although we do archive minutes played (so I could perhaps give their most commonly-played position). Would that be a good idea?

Seems like you changed it. Thanks a lot. This is very useful.

Why not do a seeding system for cup games? The top 32 or so teams and the final 8 or 16 cup teams from the previous year could be seeded. Then they always play at home against unseeded teams until there are no unseeded teams left. The rest of the cup tournament could stay the same (ie: home advantage is random when unseeded or seeded teams play against each other).

This would accomplish two things:

1) The best teams have a little bit of an advantage, which I think is only fair. It also reduces the chance that bot teams make it far in the cup.

2) Seeded teams never play away against a bot team, unless the team just recently went bot. Actually, I would always make bots the away team in the cup. Have you seen their crappy arenas?

Maybe this is just my bias against bot teams since one knocked me out of the cup last season. ;-)

Me to, but if you play serious against a bot you'll beat him easily - after you got your club for a month or lounger.

I think the home advantage for the top 16 would make another cup league(because it's hard to beat an solid team away), ang gives a big financial boost for those teams, in the last cup game i earned 160.000$ and in the next one i would get around 15-30k$ just because playing away.

And i think the ebst teams would make it far in the cup anyway.

Edit: Sorryy i just see home advantage just against bots, would be ok but i think those guys who get an bot team could be lucky because they got an TIE + Win for an extra round, so i would prefer the actual system.

I could see a mild seeding, such as preventing teams in the top 1/4 not being matched against other teams in the top 1/4. For example, I lost my opening round game to another D.III team in 2OT, while using my starters for an extended amount of minutes. Meanwhile, other teams may be able to build enthusiasm in what amount to little more than training games.

Or perhaps as many teams as possible could be given games against bots. In the USA for example, this would mean the 1st two rounds active teams would all face bots, with the real competitive cup beginning in the 3rd round.

Whatever works. I really don't like the completely random format, though. You could, in theory, see the two top ranked teams play in the 1st round while two bot teams play against each other. That's just not right.

Another idea - get rid of home court advantage in the cup.

I would like to have the amount of spectators shown on the box score site.

3) Fan mood/expectations - would be interesting to see this on the economy page

I'll look into this one.

Any developments on this one?

Charles each week in a division (example:(III.7) I would like something to show me the stat leaders just like in the NBA but they do it everyday.
