What you see is what you get - that is, with all skills equal - a 5'10" player will play Center just as good as a 7'5" player. However, the effort put in for a 5'10" player to gain - say sensational rebounding - is much greater than for the 7'5" one, cuz he's penalized for his height in training. Thus, people will tend to train high players in inside skills, and low players outside, but it's fully possible to make a 5'10" player a great center.

To sum it up - when you position your players you should look at their skills, not their height.

Totally agree. Anyone remember when Nate Robinson blocked Yao Ming? Epic stuff. It is rare but possible.

People need to think of the ratings as an absolute value not a relative value. Meaning if two players are respectable at rebounding they have essentially an equal chance of grabbing the board regardless of height. Respectable rebounding does not me it is respectable for a 5'9" player it means it is respectable for all players.

Yeah i remember when Nate blocked Yao. i was at that game and if that wasn't a body foul on nate i dont know what is. You cant get a run up at a player and hit him with your body. It was only a no call cos it was so spectacular.

Yeah. In basketball its almost the same because rebounding and blocking has little to do with height. Its all about positioning and timing.

Come on...this is taking it too far. Is there a reason the NBA is stocked with giants if there is no advantage?

There are other factors that effect rebounding and blocking, but to say it has little to do with height...that's just plain silly.

yeah but also here, they would be usually big men in the major teams/leagues, because they train efficient.
