I've always thought it's the average value. Proof is, if your star player get hurt or has foul trouble, the team ratings suffer from it because a lesser player plays more minutes, even if said star player is in the starting lineup or he's in at the end of the game.

I always thought the ratings were a bunch of baloney. For example: my last game (6154862) I scored 76% of my points from the guard position (granted some were dunks and inside shots) and shot 51% combined between the guards (35% from 3) and still had a higher rating in Inside Scoring. I guess if it only measures players skills and not stats it would make a little more sense because I am slightly weighted towards inside scoring. I also am 90% sure my opponent has very good inside defense which could explain some of the disparity between inside scoring skill and inside scoring stats.

Anyways, that was my ramble, don't put too much stock in the ratings in my opinion stats are king.

Sounds good to me. AsI do not have any clear star player and everytime I play my best lineup they have rested out the last quarter I have very little to compare with...

I see nothing wrong with the interpretation of ratings for this game. What you don't take into account is that the other team had a much higher rating in inside defense. Both teams take part in the game, you know ;)

No I did take that into account as shown in the last sentence of the first paragraph.

I think the disparity between the two should not justify the point differential received.

No, but the superior individual quality of his players should. Check his player ratings
