I have not read that.
Better Handling derives in less fouls. once two players face themselves, although one does not make a shot, they also face their Handling, and a big difference in Handling may result as a foul.
It's an observation, and for me it's right.

It's actually in the hidden attributes every player has. It makes people be more physical than other players, which results into more fouls and maybe better pressed defense.

You might wonder why some players foul more than other players with the same skill-set. I have tried to link this to Experience and opponent strength without success. Which makes me believe that all this has to do with the hidden attribute and that experience also has an effect on the amount of fouls.

Also you might wonder why some players tend to shoot more than other players with the same skill set. That, as well, is linked to the hidden attribute.

The hidden attribute has been confirmed by the BB, themselves. And they also confirmed that it affects how physical the players play. The amount of shots they take has not been confirmed by them. That is pure theory. I don't know when they said it, but it was some time ago, therefor i can't quote them directly.

So to lower the amount of fouls, you should sell the players with the most fouls per game and replace them with more careful players, because you can't train them to foul less. It's pretty much the player's "nature" to foul that much. Unless the hidden attribute is manipulatable through some kind of training, selling your players would be your best option.

Hope this helped.

what is the influence of handling on the fouls? Both defence can help on the fouls, but sure not handling.Handling works certainly about the circulation of the ball and influenced the loss of the balls, but over the fouls it counts nothing. Some of the best guards in the best national teams of the worlds, who have very very high skill in handling skill soffered of foul trobles. What's the explanation about?
The tendence to make fouls is a hidden skill of the player

I suspect you can identify it in potential draftees through the scouting rating compared with stats, although this is just a data-lite hunch.

Which sadly caused a number of potentially valuable trainees to plummet in value overnight (in the eyes of the most savvy managers)
I am disappointed this is not included in the rules as for the more casual user this is likely to be a big unknown and something that can be a costly mistake.

I hope i dont get a response saying people should check the player stats more closely because as it is rare you buy a fully complete player and I for one expected that if I place a newly purchased player in amongst better team mates and a more succesful side and train them then RB/JS % etc etc would improve.. I would also hope this would reduce their propensity to foul (through receiving better passes and coming up against worse players..

This is clearly not the case and the 'hidden' physical stat is not only a major disappointment to have to discover via the BB community and not the staff but it is IMO an uneccessary feature to implement into the game. I have traded a large number of 'foulers' since this information became common knowledge. I have even traded them as they can be bought cheaper and the transfer compare wont pick up on this. Overall I sympathise with those that have found this out the hard way and those that spend a lot of time training up someone who will always be unlikely to play out a full game for you.

Yang Dihong (2596831)

My all time favourite... i had to list him an unbelievable amount of times... he was one of the best trainees when i purchased him and this is an example of someone who it is simply not even worth training...

Now imagine getting the draftee of your dreams and his foul column looking like this guys no matter what you do.

You're right about some players being more physical than others, this has indeed been confirmed by BB-Charles, but I don't believe the amount of shots is based on a hidden attribute. I think the amount of driving compared with handling and the ability to shoot decided the amount of shots. That would make a lot more sense then a 'hidden' attribute in this case. I believe driving adds chances, handling and shooting decide if the shot will be taken. I also think that shotblocking is the opposite of driving, so that would lower the chances of the opponent.

I don't know about that...

I wouldn't be surprised if there's hidden aspects in every part of the game. For example, my pg has prolific passing bordering on sensational and he only averages 3.5 assists per game. I've seen other guys with far less in terms of passing skill have much more assists. There's definitely got to be something to that.

That kind of difference is possible, but i think that relies on the players skills and the tactics used, for instance, when playing motion a point guard won't give that much assists, because he'll shoot a lot more, when he has got the ball. but you'll probably notice that your center will give more assists. Whwn you're playing for instance look inside the player willprobably give more assists. But when the receiver isný very good at shooting, the player giving the pass woný get a assist on his name. So you see there are a lot of possibilities.
