thats depends on:

- his jump shot
- his match ups OD
- your outside attack
- opponents outside defence
- his ability to pass
- your game flow
- ability of his team mates to score
- experience
- stamina
- time on court

- ability of his team mates to score ?

Do you just think that or is it proven that the other mates matter ( appart from passing )?

i would say if the team mates can not score the player won't pass that often and try more difficult shots but this is just theory, but the clock will run down more often if not this will definately lead to more difficult shots.(maybe i should mention mention the team ratings also, in the defensiv part they play definately a bit and i also give then a small part in the offensiv end)

i guess crazy is right. the engine prefers to create a shot for the best matchup. so if he is nearly the only player on ur team to score vs his defender (depending on other factors mentioned in crazys post) he will take a lot of shots, also difficult ones.

Now that youve mentioned it, it makes sence. The best players take the most shots. The tactic doesnt make big differences, its always the same players who shoot ( thats the case in my games, i dont know about your games)

Actually it's covered in the rules as well;

Whether an outside shot goes in is a combination of the individual and team outside scoring rating, as well as the opposing individual and team outside defense. If a great player is the only option on a bad team, he will draw more coverage, and therefore his shooting percentage will go down; similarly a bad player on the same team will only tend to shoot outside shots when he is wide open. The same applies to other shot types.
