Well, I just started this week, and played 1 game, and of the 4500 seats only about 600 were taken, so I was thinking that dropping the price would attract more people. I hoped that cutting the prices in half, I would have more than twice the attendance, earning me more. At least for the first month.
I don't think I'll be winning much.
I won my first game, but it was against a bot :-)

I have the other situation. I have sold out my last 3 games. Seems to me the better thing to do is to raise my ticket prices as opposed to adding more seats. I see the ticket prices change on the first of each month. Has anyone raised their ticket prices, and what seems like a good starting point(25%, 50%)? Thanks!

Phil

I am not sure that slashing prices will help. Generally, you have a 'hard core' of fans that will come whether the tickets are $5.00 or $15.00. Winning and having a good PR guy will increase REVENUE.

Good luck though. After two weeks I hired a "4" PR guy. I can not tell if he helped, or that I have won my share of games. However since that time attendance has gone up considerably.

Side note- I am raising my prices next month - bleacher to $12, lower tier to $35 and courtsdie to $150.
will let you know how REVENUE turns out

EDIT
Bleachers : 4500 : $10 Price Next Month $12
Lower Tier : 450 $35 Price Next Month $50
Courtside Seats :50 $100 Price Next Month $150

I'm doing the same, but I thought along the same lines as the first guy and it was probly a mistake. I've sold out my arena for the last two games and almost sold it out the first game of the month with the ticket prices of:

Bleachers $5
Lower Tier $25
Courtside $75

of course I'm not making much money at all so I'm raising my seat prices now, though I'm doing it 12, 44, 130. That and I'm also expanding my arena by around 260 seats so that I can have a couple luxury boxes as a well as a few more seats.

There might be something that makes the fans of brand new teams fairly negative. I have been selling out my courtside seeds, but not by bleachers and lower tier. So next month, I'm bumping the price on my courtside and dropping the price on my other seats. I think dropping to the minimum is pretty drastic though.

Ok, I raised my ticket prices around 40%. My Lower Tier and Courtside seats still sold out, but my bleachers only had 80% capacity. As long as I keep winning, I'm sure I will sell out the bleachers soon.

Well, I tried it, and I'll see on tuesday...
A friend of mine cut his prices about 70%, and his attendance increased from ~700 to ~2800. So if it's somewhat linear (which it isn't, judging from the rules), it might give me a full house...
So minimum prices might be too drastic indeed, but I will still have more than if I left it at default, it seems

How'd you do?

I increased the price on my courtside seats, and they still sold out. I dropped the lower tier to $36 and had my best attendance yet. The dropped the bleachers to $11 and they did OK. My team hasn't been doing to good lately, so it's hard to tell what effect the priced drop made. I kind of think if I were winning games, I'd be filling the lower tier as well.

I raised my tickets
bleachers from 10 to 12
Lower Tier from 35 to 50
courtside from 100 to 150

total attendace went down 700, however revenue stayed the same.

I also think that how good the team you play has an affect on attendance. my last five home games have been
2100 (last place team)
3017 (2nd place team)
2543 (6th place team)
2939 (3rd place team)
----------------------------all of the above were at old prices
2437 (5th place team)

so compare the 2543 (old prices 6th place team) and the 2437 (new price 5th place). I am sure I would have sold maybe 2800 or so if I had not raised prices, however revenue would be less.
also, I have a 10 game winning streak, and have not change PR guy, so that should not be a variable.

Your opponent's rank will surely have an effect, I believe.

So my attandance went from
Bl: 497 to 1431 (max 4500) + 934 (+188%)
Lo: 75 to 326 (max 450) + 251 (+335%)
Co: 19 to 50 (max 50) + 31 (+163%)
Lu: 0 to 0 max 0) + 0 (+0%)
Tot: 591 to 1807 (max 5000) + 1216 (+206%)

The game before I lost (to the first placed team), but the game before that one I won (against the last placed), which was my first home match. This match was against the 4th placed team.
For courtside I reached max, so I don't know how far they would've gone.
So roughly: for cutting the price in half, you get 3x the attendance, giving you 50% extra revenue (what I was hoping for).
I also seems that the higher priced seats are more sensitive to price than to results as the rules state.

also, I woulld assume that tickets sales are affected by season ticket holders? I only have 153 season ticket holders. I hope next season that figure will be much higher and (MAYBE??) increase tickets sales.
