Well he's looking to get relegated currently, so I think this is a terrible move on his part.

His team is good enough to pick up 1-2 extra wins over the course of a season and jump above the next two guys in 6/7 place.

I completely agree, I hate Div. III & IV teams that CT in the tournament. The last two seasons thats happened to me, however i cant say much more than that because i did it a handful of times. One of those times was my first season against NY Wahoos, where i won a game i shouldn't have. Regardless when theres a drastic difference between teams, CT should not be that powerful.

But seriously that $50k is worth far more to a D3 guy than a D2 guy. And he probably plays in a much less competitive division so dropping 2 division games might not hurt in the long run as much as it would for you.

With this my first season in III, 50K does mean a lot to me, but I do agree that CT'ing higher III's, II's, and NBBA are stupid moves because you give up the enth for the regular season.

Grey Barons is an experienced team so it kinda shocked me and he's already sunk this season and is looking to reload. Now what you said about our division, it is no walk in the park. Now the division as a whole is pretty average in my opinion but the Big 8 conference with myself and Barons is pretty stacked, really good elite teams & former NBBA team Demon Hoosiers. Compared to the other conference the Big 8 are far superior then the Great 8. Still guess we have to see how it turns out huh ;)

Sorry for butting in haha but I saw that Deronimo commented on III.5 forums so I just thought I'd take a look at all the fuss

Well to your point, unless you're sure you are going to compete for the championship, why scratch and claw for 2nd or 3rd place? All you have to do is win that relegation battle and you're still in.

This is only annoying because us here in Div II are expecting a walkover, we expect the opponent to treat it as a walkover and we'll collect both our 50k and enthusiasm boost and proceed to the next round of the cup. So really, we *do* care about that 50k, which may turn into 100k (as should be the case for the team that beat Deronimo as they get a Div V team next round), or 200k, etc. I've done it myself a bunch of seasons ago as a Div III team against an NBBA team and won. The congrats and adulation from the rest of my league was worth it alone, aside from the financial gain.

Edit: That same season I CTed our very own NY Wahoos a few rounds later. Sorry man, I was on a roll. No hard feelings :)

The divisions are also getting a lot deeper then when we were in Div III and IV. Used to be having a couple $20k players meant you were unstoppable down there.

Yeah, the money is important, and the pride is important as well. I nearly quit last season because of losing a game i felt i should win in the cup even though i was CTed. It just sucks because the CT is a trump card over everything else. At least it happens to everyone at one point or another.

Yeah, that really suprised me. No offense to Albany who earned the W, but still a surprise upset.

Also a surprise with the Freaks over NY Wahoos.

With the game and matchup ratings... I should have easily had that game at home.
Second time this season someone stole a W on the road when they shouldn't have........

Also a surprise with the Freaks over NY Wahoos.

How was that a surprise? Wahoos sold its PG and C earlier this season, the PF was in inept game shape, and the other two big guns were at average... and one didn't play.
