This won't break the game.

First point: if you are arguing that people who are unwilling to take the time to find out how much players of a certain type sell for and as a result decide to overpay for certain players are being victimised, then I argue that they are victimising themselves by not making the effort to find out what players sell for.

As for the second, rather hysterical, point, this is paranoia being taken to extremes. I find it hard to believe that any player is willing to massively overpay for a player - risking being fined or banned in the process - just to see an opponent lose money through a fine for selling that player for too much.

As our erstwhile GM states, this warning serves to prevent players claiming ignorance of the rules. These rules have existed since the beginning of the game: they are not new.

Couldn't have summed it up better. Well put

Just a little clarification for everyone: there is no "tool" for detecting overpriced transfers. Every transfer that is deemed overpriced has been done so by a GM or a BB. We have an effective system of review for these cases. If you're playing honestly you have nothing to worry about.

well i will purchase a player

my first player

where i can go to see to watch and to read or to listen how much is a player overpriced?

if i'm interested in a 3,000 salary player 18 yo playing as small Forward and i put a 300,000 offer for him there's any chance to know if it is overpriced without been loking the transfermaket for 2-3 months?

and how i can see the final bids for players i was interested in if i no longer have the links or player's numbers anywhere of the page? i need to put the links on a TXT file?

could be interesting to do an historial for losing bids or something like this, each manager will get his own transferlist to compare...

by the way there's a big problem here, and honesty is not a factor to be worryed about. Just you can be a very Honest Man and i will let to buy one of your guys for 1,000,000 and let the both teams banned.

In this forum is the Player Valuation thread. Ask in there.

That sounds like a very good idea. The work of a few seconds. Perhaps it's something the programmers of BuzzerBeater Scout and Assist could work into their programs.

Just you can be a very Honest Man and i will let to buy one of your guys for 1,000,000 and let the both teams banned.

When do you propose to have $1,000,000? Let me know and I'll sell you my best player. Judging by the transfer market right now, he'd fetch somewhere near that price.

Anyway, this idea of yours that anybody would want to bankrupt their team just to get another player fined is beyond preposterous. Do you really expect it happen? Do you seriously believe that it is better to change the rules regarding over-priced transfers just to prevent the one in a million chance that a malicious player would take the course of action you have imagined?

You can always review current bids on similar players.

if i'm interested in a 3,000 salary player 18 yo playing as small Forward and i put a 300,000 offer for him there's any chance to know if it is overpriced without been loking the transfermaket for 2-3 months?

For the 18 millionth time, we're talking about grossly overpriced bids. Not, in most cases, overages 50k or even 100k .

and how i can see the final bids for players i was interested in if i no longer have the links or player's numbers anywhere of the page? i need to put the links on a TXT file?

TXT file works. Supporters can use bookmarks. I do wish players whom you have previously bid on would remain in a recent bids section after they were sold.

by the way there's a big problem here, and honesty is not a factor to be worryed about. Just you can be a very Honest Man and i will let to buy one of your guys for 1,000,000 and let the both teams banned.

That's more than a little far fetched.

Erm, I am a bit confused as to where this discussion is leading.

It's leading where the vast majority of BB threads lead: nowhere or oblivion. :)

Makes perfect sense

This policy is intended to keep the market economy fair for everyone, and we hope you sympathize with our concerns.

i have to raise a question because this rule does not cover a specific situation. i understand that from a bidwar worth 100k or 200k over the value of the player is in the benefit of the current owner and from the competition of 2 potential big buyers the owner might get a bigger price than intended and thus leading to market unfair.

What about free agency?

seeing that bot teams lose their players to free agency, practicaly the money spent on buying the player from free agency disappears.

for example, you have a sensational rebounder which is pretty hard to evaluate, because there are to few such player on the market because their high skill is from persistant bot training. but because the money i overbid goes to nobody and the fact that nobody else bids over me might mean 2 thing.....1 i evaluated wrong and i overpaid without the risk of unfairness and not favoring anybody, or 2 by paing more on my mistake i don't affect the economy rather than taking money out of the game.

bottom line, shouldn't free agent players be bought on whatever amount of money the buyer wants? (mainly because it affects no one)

How it is possible to evaluate that some team has bid too much money on the player....maybe this player is very good, and that is not my fault that someone is so stupid to bid too much money on the player...I hope that everyone understood what I wanted to say....

it is still not "appropriate" to bid 1000 000 on a player worth 50 000....

but sure, if there are some stupid chidreen out there

There's no one to fine when a free agent is sold for absurd amounts of money - there's no potential cheating or unbalancing of the economy.

I buy today player Romualdo Cella (2952969) for 106 000$. At first sight everything looks ok. I pay money and player is add to my squad. But when i go to transfer history info about today transaction don't exsist. Is it transfer bug? Can I lose this player?
