Wow, i dodged a bullet this evening: opponent misses two freethrows in the final second and i win by one point. Looking at the ratings it shouldn't have been this close though

Well, Mumu still alive. Got an easy win against Ganshoren, not sure he went for the Cup.
I could acquire 2 nice players and will keep Harryson until I am out of the Cup.
Don't have so much time to communicate but I read it all about belgian players, and just to add my piece on the cake, I too was looking more than one season for that rare belgian player, am happy I could get Rienk de Groote. No other one on the TL for a while.

Well, you're more lucky than me then, i still haven't been able to acquire one single rare Belgian talent, and god knows i've been looking for it. But i'm not prepared to pay an exagerated price neither, the price has to stay within reason.
A conservative money management always has been a priority for the Eagles.
Unfortunately i also think that's the reason I wans't able to acquire one...since rare Belgian talent has also been looked for very much by many other BBBL teams with undoubtedly more money than me.

We msu also say that good belgian talent has been very scarce on the TL recently. I saw very few valuable players of the latest draft being traded, and almost none experienced players since 1,5 season.

Although I do not think that the latest on the TL were so overpriced, the fact that very good belgian players are so rarely traded makes it hard to get one.

EDIT : one again, I sure and certain, build them yourselves. Dedicate one training spot to any sweet 18-yos MVP you get yourselves on (200 k - 400 k isn't overpriced AT ALL) and field them against bot cup games / scrimmages / league games you drop. It may take a while, but you'll need up with the player you want, at a very low cost. Now that Claeys is reaching the end of his formation, I'll be probably looking for something nice over the next 2 seasons.

i got my belgian player. formed him myself (as a guard!) and he's shooting .645 from the guard spot! (and yes, u could argue that a guard would get that if his DR is good enough on inside tactics) but i have hardly played inside!

i've got 2 great talents (a Belgian and an English one) who are finally starting to come into their own. i've also got an italian one to mob up the minutes after the other 2 ( tho i wouldn't mind replacing him with a Belgian new trainee if the opportunity arises to get one :D)

fact remains, training an 18y old as BBBL team is not possible without giving up on the cup as soon as u face a III team. in BBBL games, the 18y old will foul out unless the opponent is nice enough to help u out by fielding a weak opponent for your trainee. And once u face a strong III teams in the cup, u can't field him anymore since he'll also foul out. Hence, taking up a player at 18y old in the BBBL is just not realistic. a 20y old, that can work in the cup. but not an 18y old...

If you field a correct team you can play with a 18-yo in a D.3 game. It all depends on the opponent of course. It is sure that waiting for a player to come on the TL when most of basic training has already been done is appealing, but there are several risks :

- player may not suit your needs as his former owner might have different objectives

- player may have had delayed training, thus making him much less interesting

- competition for him is likely to raise, making him much more expensive than a pure raw material would be.

However I agree that nothing comes without sacrifice, and training a youngster need slots. But all team doing formation know that, and yet rewards exceed expenses by far.

Another small remark : I'd much more gladly train a 18-yo than Claeys out of position, as having a 125 k player that you can't field in regular games is "quite" annoying. And yet it is necessary so that he gets the profile I want him to ... At the least the 18-yo doesn't cost 5 k / week ;)
