But now find anywhere I said something bad about MJ or Kobe or any other volume shooter. They are great. I enjoy every aspect of their game. And even I do like their extraordinary ego. They are personalities. They are not only playing basketball. They are creating it. Basketball was not the same before MJ. And I think he is the greatest of all time. So how I can not give him credit for taking his team to 6 championships? :)

What you don't give credit for is that somebody on the team has to make the shots and take the shots that everyone else can't get.
Why don't we all build a nice straw man and argue with him? Modern basketball is all about taking better shots and values players who can make those shots at a high percentage. If I wanted to argue the same way you do, I'd say that 90s and early '00s was just hero-ball time in full glory.
It's obvious that 'somebody on the team has to take the shots'. It's also obvious that someone shooting in the low 40s should pass the ball to any random end of the bench guy, or lucky fan to use a BB equivalent, if the guy is open. Thinking 'it's better my shot over a double or triple team at 40% chance than someone else free at 45%' is ridiculous.


Like we have any clue what his team needs from him.
Ask Shaq and how the Pistons wiped the floor with the Lakers in '04. Shaq shot 62% on 16 FGA and Kobe shot 39% on 23 FGA in the finals. I'm sure Shaq is qualified to answer your question and has in fact already said what he thought about it.
