That's a highly sexual 3.5 rating for Matthews.

I don't have a reference for the quality of teams here, but the result itself doesn't look terrible to me. If we won I think I'd be a little more upset, actually.

Wow, your hind-sight is 20/20!

Naturally. I just don't have the time to check in very much. I just can't believe someone suggested this tactic and, probably because it was RIP, the NT manager jumped right on board.

I didn't even mention the weird tactics in the Argentina game, although I did talk about it in the off-site.

Anyhow, doesn't matter, it is just a game. And I won't be around much longer, anyways. I know I keep saying that so I might as well seal the deal.

I don't have anything positive to say about this guy but as a fellow expert, his opinion is correct.

The greatest of all time.

Agreed. This is a disaster.

Our NT had been making huge strides and managed some impressive results in the last few seasons, now we fail to even field a team in a huge game.

Going to the consolation tournement at 0-2 sucks big time. I sure hope Greerzilla chimes in soon!

I did forget to set the lineup. No excuses from me. I am going to do whatever it takes to get us home court for the Americas next season.

The current roster has been posted to the offsite forum. Now you can check the offsite forum and can have an educated opinion on what the roster should look like. You will also see a list of up and comers in certain position or find out what type of player you should train to make the national team itself.

Also for those Canadian managers interested in picking up an NT, U21 or Prospect please follow this thread in the Canadian Naismith forums (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr...) for updated information on these type of players on the TL.

Some thoughts on this year's team.

Right now we are going to open with 11 players. Next call ups will be Ed Mathews and Germain Demers if we need them. The team is identical from last season to start but big changes could be happening in the next few seasons. By the end of next season, good chance that Issa, Mathews, and Gaize could all be done from the team.

PG:
Williams is still the best PG in Canada with Milot and Germain right behind him. Milot gets a slight edge as he is a little more well rounded, especially his secondaries which is a big part of playing on the National Team. Up and comers are Gerry Stavaidis, Romeo Lavigne, and Davis Mercado. Lavigne and Stavridis both have MVP potential which might limit their upside. With more passing training Stavridis could be ready to bump someone from the team by the end of this season.

SG:
Sg is a tricky position as it usually is determined by game shape. Gaize has the lowest OD of all the guards, but often was the starter last season due to game shape. with Issa and Mathews both up for sale, who knows what there game shape is going to be like. Gaize has the best secondaries of the guard which plays a role in that too. Up and comers include Herman Kearns, Diant Stronks, and Dwain Hadley and are ranked in that order. If they continue to get trained the way they are, all 3 will be on the opening day roster for season 20. This is where Canada has the most depth and it won't suprise me if all 3 of these players reach Legendary OD. It will set the bar high to bump those 3 out.

SF:
Canada is known for their well rounded SF's and I would bet that Essa Abu-Kaleel is one of the top SF's in the world. Still being trained at age 28 may be one of his secret's but he is amazing. Looking at the up and comers, he could play SF for another 7 or 8 seasons on the NT. He has the highest skill points of any player in Canada by 7 points over Maja. Abbott is almost at the end of his career, but only Bryan Lacroix stands a chance of making the team as a SF but I wish his OD and ID was a little higher. This is going to be a definite weakness because there is no real depth at SF.

PF:
Momar Maja is an elite PF and doesn't look like he has much competition to his throne. TSA is getting older but is still an amazing back up. Germain Demers can crack the team, he is still being trained but I am pretty sure he is capped after talking last season with his manager. So if Demers is capped or very close, then so is Tim Emerson who just sold for over $5 million at the start of the season. That's it for actual PF's at the NT level.

C:
Here is our one glaring weakness compared to other NT's. We only have Moran as a monster big and we have such problems against look inside teams. Glenn Richards capped early in his career and is our next best option down low. Ideally we need some more 200k salary Centres but with some decent secondaries. Hopefully some more high potential bigs pop up in the next few seasons because there is a lack of depth here too.

How did we just lose by 27 points at home to France playing the same effort level?
