I don't think anyone in their right mind would have mTIE'd that game, does any other fixture on your guys' schedules even matter?? You're playing your own game over there.

he's in the cup. in hindsight it was a mistake to offer it.

Highlight of my season! A scrimmage with a Ghanaian team!

EDIT: The odds of this were astronomical. No Ghanaian team has even played a scrimmage this season, although there are only 4 of them...

After your recent roster move, you've got the most expensive roster in the entire league now. You also pay about 90k more in salary than I do.

I really don't care to win the title, & never have very much.

I see. So was this new player just all lonely on the Transfer Market and you felt sorry for him? How generous of you, providing a home and shelter for a player in need. The soup kitchens in Milwaukee will be sorry to see him go.

sigh... relax, lol. (& you really do take this game far too seriously)
it was only like 45 minutes before your post. but now i almost feel like keeping him & possibly adding on just to aggravate you & the WWs of the league!

i rarely even check the TL, but since Garabalde is injured (& lets face it, over the hill after this season), thought i'd check if there was an equivalent. Was browsing for a guy with pretty much same salary / skillset. Found 1 too. But inexplicably a couple of 5000 in the world type teams bid him up ridiculously high at the last moment. (also, the secondary reason for searching: was really curious how close my cup game with LMA would be with the Garabalde level player. i expected to lose even with the replacement for the record.)

So while browsing i happened to see a 22 year old, 7'5" MVP center for around $500k. With a really different skillset than i'd normally even consider. (don't know if that's a common sight on the TL?) i put a single bid & was really surprised to get him. shocked actually. and it's my first non-scrub signing since joining the NBBA and since season 17!!! Note that it's almost the end of season 20...

Now i **was** just going to use him as a backup in the cup game & maybe use him in a couple regular season games to see how he fits before selling him. or if i did keep him, only play him out of position & start training him.

I don't get why you're prematurely jumping all over a signing as some sort of "gotcha" moment... when what you quoted isn't even relevant. Like how do you know if i kept him i wouldn't just do something like single position train him in JR? just to see how slow a 7'5" guy trains in it. the answer is you don't.

However, after the hostility, maybe i'll just keep him & play him normally? (despite my having 6 C's now... talk about a waste!)

And hypothetically, if i did win something with a bloated payroll... no i wouldn't take any joy in it. But i guess you know how i feel better & my motivations better than i do???

You guys are all nuts. I don't care how you win, just win.

If i had twice the payroll of everyone else in the world and won, i'd be just as happy.

that's fine. what's good to you is good to you!

it's just so annoying to sign my first guy in 3 seasons, & have some super serious game guy -- not even 50 min later -- jump all over it. quoting some irrelevant portion of an old post he never bothered to reply to in the first place. & basically trying to call me a liar. (in essence... -_- )

BTW, i've done the huge imbalance thing in a different game (long ago)... and it really sucked. wasn't fun at all. (it was honestly surprising how not-fun winning by a landslide could be to me)

Dude, I'm just poking fun at your cracks about me getting that 200k guard and then at that little back and forth you had with LMA. I could've picked other lines from that, but I just grabbed one of them. Wasn't to be taken too seriously. Was hoping the 'soup kitchen' remark would convey that.

(& you really do take this game far too seriously)

Recently? Damn straight. I'm bored as shit and this is the only game I've played for over a month. The NFL season hasn't started, and training camps don't even start for another week. Gotta get my OCD stats fix and breaking news from somewhere. At least here in BB there's actual breaking news, while in the NFL world nothing can possibly happen anytime soon.

So while browsing i happened to see a 22 year old, 7'5" MVP center for around $500k.

Definitely high value. He'll most likely be playing way above is weekly salary, assuming he's been getting trained this season.

Like how do you know if i kept him i wouldn't just do something like single position train him in JR? just to see how slow a 7'5" guy trains in it.

He better train it slow. Would be unfair otherwise. Bigs with JR are one of the few X-factors in the game. I mean, check out this match. 5 made 3pters, and they're all from the PF or C spot. (46052888)

Here's something on a grander scale. National Team match. #1 team in the World, Poland, often uses a PF who shoots 3's. (11032136) I know he's only in D2, but he's hitting 3's at a 35% clip in league play.

After my current team needs an overhaul, I've thought about switching everything up to something truly funky, like a team that actually wants to take 3's.
